Lol... I wasn't impressed with my first meeting but i was desperate so I went to another, then another. It took a while but the "Fog' started lifting and I could start hearing what people were really saying. At first all I did was not drink or drug and my life stopped getting worse which was a great improvement. It took a pretty long time for me (sometimes quickly some times slowly) but I started to realize that peoples lives were getting better and that those people were the ones that were getting involved and were working the steps. At about a year and a half I finally asked someone to be my sponsor (sometimes slowly). He didn't just flip me his number, He asked are you willing to do this, are you willing to do this, i kept saying yes, we met every week at the same time , I got a reading and writing assignment each week. He took me though the steps, Took me on my first hospital panel, nominated me for my first secretary commitment, then GSR. I sure didn't intend for this to be so long but I guess that's what happens when I'm not getting to meetings. I am still very grateful to the man who put in his time for me. And yes my life started getting better too.

I have seen every one of these "stereotypes" at meetings, of course these are very antimated and funny. My meeting attendence is at a point to where I find it entertaining to just listen, watch, and learn. It is better to be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

It sounded totally derogatory and that’s what I liked. Actually this meeting is like any and all the meeting I went to for 37 years. Same characters and personalities in all the meetings even in the zoom meetings all around the world. I recommend to anyone to never go to AA. It’s a cult like Scientology . Run!
