@@royfokerpoker1802, perhaps the downbet by Garrett on the turn convinced Andy to jam with a 1 spr left. I would agree that Andy's line is outside the box but it was incredible seeing a double cr on two streets w/ a jam in real time and Gmans mind almost explode. So raw I think Andy gets it all if he x/c flop, x/cr jam turn. Gmans bet would have likely been massive on turn with no resistance on flop. Another interesting point is how Andy sees the 1/4 turn bet and if he takes the line with QQ or middle pp.

@bobbygrizz2103 жыл бұрын
Your suppose to balance your lines… so really good players like Andy should technically have bluffs on a line like that. For exactly this reason, if he was bluffing he just won a huge pot because his opponent knows that 99% of the time this line is the essential nuts. So throwing a bluff in there is definitely something Andy is capable of. The only problem is the most likely candidate 67 suited isn’t going to be doing this on a rainbow board. If there was a flush draw on the board I think garret would be much more inclined to call.

Andy butchered this hand. I don't mind the call pre-flop. It's a little trappy, but Garrett has shown that he likes to 3-bet pretty light and so it's nice to mix in some super strong hands into your 3-bet calling range to make yourself harder to play against. Pre-flop all good. Then on the flop, standard play is to check most hands out of position to the pre-flop aggressor. Garrett puts in a continuation bet which we know is a value bet. Now as Andy, you have to ask yourself, what is Garrett's range? In this spot, Garrett has mostly suited broadway cards, overpairs, and occasionally some lower suited connectors (87, 76). So most of Garrett's range has missed, and his overpairs are value betting. When we check-raise him here, we force out a lot of Garrett's bluff hands which make up most of his range. Furthermore, we don't allow him to feel super comfortable with his overpairs either. As the 3-bet caller, Andy can have 9s full which Garrett might worry about. So I really don't like check-raising this flop because it makes it harder for our hand to get value on later streets and it forces out all of Garrett's bluffs, which we would like him to continue bluffing with. Anyway, while I prefer check-calling flop, Andy check-raises flop and then decides to check turn. This is a strange play. If you check-raise flop, you're saying that you have a super strong hand. Garrett would therefore probably be content to get to a cheaper showdown so when you check turn here as Andy, most of Garrett's range will simply check back. Is Garrett really going to go for value with 10s or JJs here? It would be much better to bet out half to two-thirds pot to force Garrett to pay to get to showdown with his overpairs. If you bet 10K on turn, Garrett has essentially a must call. Anyways, Andy checks turn and Garrett bets, thinking maybe that Andy could still have QQs or worse in this spot. Andy then just jams it in there. Well what is Andy saying he has now? He's basically saying he's got either 99s full or Aces. So while it hurts Garrett to fold, unless Andy is stone-cold bluffing this spot, which he might do but only at a very low frequency, Garrett has a pretty annoying but simple fold. Andy basically just played his hand face-up and this is Poker.
