AAEE Learning Circle #13 Exploring the intersections of STEM and sustainability in the early years

STEM and sustainability are a logical fit for projects in early years settings, there is much potential to explore the real world complexities of sustainability through the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Such interdisciplinary approaches promote critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and experimentation while offering meaningful and applied learning possibilities. In this webinar, several projects will be shared via video and in-person to promote recognition of the potential of sustainability focussed STEM projects. The projects shared will range from the conservation of turtles, butterflies, and bees to consideration of predator/prey relationships, and were undertaken with children aged 3-8 years across early childhood and school settings.
