Hi, everyone! I just published a step-by-step book on building with logs. I have done my best making it as ''hands-on'' as possible, with detailed explanations and point-of-view images. I think it might be helpful for those who would like to do their own log cabin, log shelter, or log home project. For those interested, you can find it on Amazon: www.amazon.com/dp/B099SBCRJ1

Oh My God. Amazing work. I don't think I have ever seen this type of oval log construction.

Thank you very much! We often build with oval shaped logs, it looks pretty good when finished :-)

Привет 👋 ты англичанин ? Я тоже этим увлекаюсь , сам построил бревенчатый домик в лесу, с помощью одного топора и ручной пилы. 😊

if you drive in the pins that hold the logs together in while it is still in your shop, is it hard to take apart when it comes time to package it up for delivery?
@aafjeld9 ай бұрын
No, that is quite an ok process, when we take it apart we pry them out an cut them, put in isolation and transport it to site. When we are on site we pry them back in with a driver and it is in the exact same place as when we built it 😊

is it ok that the logs have those splits running down the middle?
@aafjeld9 ай бұрын
Yes, that is totally normal as this is wood and will always stay «alive» and change over time 😊

Beautiful work. Do you plan on disassembling it in part and moving to the site to re-assemble? If not, what then?
@aafjeld3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, when the cabin is completed we mark it and disassemble it log by log and transport it to site. It is very convenient to have access to a crane during the build. This particular cabin is going to be re-assembled on Haglebu, Norway.

why doesn't he build himself a jig box and save weeks of work
@aafjeld3 жыл бұрын
That is an option, but since every log is different in shape - a jig box would not create the same result as the notches would not become tight enough :-) But a jig could work, if every log was the same shape, or if tight notches were not a concern.

Elbows,back and knee problems in the future guaranteed.Its painful to watch how difficult you can make this easy process of building logcabins with norwegian notch🥴
