As far as young women of the 90s era Brandy is. She definitely comes 2nd though.

@@troyponton7408 Lies.. Brandy was a bit too over commercialized and bubblegum pop for pure r&b. Aaliyah brought that vide. Not only sound waving through the streets but mellow enough that older heads became fans!

probably because she usually softens her vocals up for the CD and live she sings more in the rich alto part of her songs but on the CD with this song she sung it using the darker part of her voice instead of the sweet soft tone she normally uses. She always sounds good live to me tho because she shows she's versatile with her voice and can be a powerhouse or sing sweet and softly and her falsettos are always dope !
@toylisaallen72843 жыл бұрын
Yes she said herself on stage she sings in her deeper voice because it's easier for her to control her breath while she's dancing and singing verses in the studio where she's more relaxed she could sing in her natural voice which is a lot softer

Yall really need to give her a break, she was still a teen at 16 your nerves can get to you at that age performing like she did, she had confidence in herself but she was shy, is that a problem? Every artist have that momentum so stop judging her she slayed her performances regardless

These other singers, male and female, needs to take note from Aaliyah on how to dance and sing LIVE. The only three I can name that can is MJ, Usher and Beyonce. You can tell that Aaliyah was growing into and entertainer and was for the stage and silver screen. R&B legend.
