NN, you are wise beyond your years. I am 25 and I have a relative around your age but I can understand why it would be difficult for someone born in 2000 to grasp Aaliyah's influence, so that you are able to do so is impressive. She was a big deal. There wasn't a party you would go to where her music wasn't being played. I was stunned when I heard she died. Looking back, it was kind of a crazy time, because it seemed so many of the leading musicians were dying off one by one at such a young age - Tupac, Biggie, Aaliyah, Left Eye, etc. It was really hard and I'm grateful this video exists because it was taken a few months before she died. It's also worth noting that she died not too far away from the September 11 attacks and that equally gripped me too.

Everybody have skeletons in their closet including Aaliyah. The difference is back then their were no social media so a lot of things never leaked out. But I do have to admit that Aaliyah was a very private person. No one is perfect in the early 2000s Brandy lied to the world and said that she was married and she actually wasn’t. In the 90s Pam Anderson from Baywatch husband leaked a sex tape of them two having sex. So no one is perfect it’s just that we have cell phones and social media now and with just a click of a button personal information about an artist can be leaked and viewed by the whole world.

@Bianca Clark I think you are disrespecting Nicki and Cardi B and clearly don’t know them personally or know all of their music. Because if you did you’d realize that they are beautiful inspiring women that do have quality music that is motivating. Not all of their music is about sex and negative stuff. I feel that there are positives and negatives about everything and every generation. Music is beautiful and the artists that make it are brave because it’s not easy to entertain and be in front of the camera and be human at the same time. These people put in work.

A shame when I think about it... the role models of the last century and the beginning of the 00's were definitely relatable to the real life. What happend? Is it because of this money ruled world that we are living in?! Some rolemodels better watch what they say as guru said it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKKVm6l8psmDj80 Nowadays...more sex more skin... And very very small amount of class.... It is all about who has the biggest ass and who can twerk the best. I hope this will chance.... It's sad. I'm happy to be at 1991 child.
