When she died, it hurt me bad. I was 16. I met her the year before, in 2000 in the neighborhood I grew up in. We spoke. She was very kind and encouraging. When I said, “Omg, I love you, Aaliyah!” She said, “I love you, and you can do anything and be anything you put your mind to.” She was really that message personified. That’s what made it so real. I looked up to her, Monica and Brandy.

Whoever that was laughing about her Uncle collecting $90 million and staying at some fancy hotel is despicable. It's sad that Aaliyah seemed to be surrounded by a bunch of predators and leeches.

I jsut read this days ago her uncle took out an insurance that if anything happened and boom she dies, all these years I never knew until now how utterly disgusting. Man she went through it with these predators, then to pass away in such a painful horrible way, god bless her soul.

Wow. This was really well done. I've been an Aaliyah fan since Age Ain't Nothin but A Number. Not a lot of artist can handle being so famous at such a young age and not let it change them. You have to go into that business with a strong sense of self. And you don't need to have a diva-like attitude to succeed. She was a clearly a gifted artist, but she always stayed down to earth. Not a lot of stars like that out there. RIP ❤

@@Littleofeverything Agreed! I always said this and people never agree. Kravitz's plane look large enough to me to have been able to include Aaliyah. - Maybe not her entire enterage since he had his own production team, but the artist should have been prioritized. And I will never believe that Aaliyah walked on that small plain sober and of herbown free will. I believe she was carried on having been druged to make her sleep. Once the industry decided they wanted Beyonce to be the next "IT Chic" of the Music world, they had to make room for her. She would not have been able to compète with Aaliyah 1-on-1 bc Aaliyah was too talented, naturally beautiful, humble, too révérend/loved internationally and she genuinely had a pure soûl and warm personality that was infectous. Furthermore, Aaliyah was NOT an industry pupet and I d'are say that with the support and encouragement of her parents and brother, would have walked away from famé before she compromised her soul to continue to thrive in the industry. Beyonce is the face of à demonic agenda that has successfully been rolled out over the past 20 years. She is a human robot who does as she is told. She NEVER had a personality or was ever coached on how to interview well. - She gave an interview on the VIEW years ago (google it) and Whoopi simply asked her "Who is Beyonce?" Beyonce paused and chuckled, but she had zéro response. It was pathetic. Whoopi had to coach her in giving an answer by saying...."Well you are à wife, à mother....." And then Beyonce just repeated that and listen "sister" and "daughter." And the industry loves people that they can control, manipulate, and mold into the character and chefs pièces that they want to promote. Excellent Documentary! I too was à die hard Aaliyah fan and was devasted by her death. I am not, and was never à Beyonce fan although I did entertain her music when she first went solo. But after the Crazy in Love album, which is pre her acknowledgeent of Sasha Fierté, the Holy Spirit revealed to me who Beyonce and Jay-z and other artists really are, and I stopped listening to them altogether. And for any misled, spiritully lost Beehive members, do not come for me! I rebuke your blind déception and ignorance in Jesus Name and pray the blood of Jesus over your life! Be blessed everyone and rest peacefully and in power Aaliyah.

This sure did bring back a lot of memories as I was born in the 70z, and was in the high school graduating class of 1994. I played R Kelly's music on an actual Georgia radio station, I even met him once, and coincidentally my family's name in Jamaica is "Haughton" (no known relation). This music came from a time when there was no social media phenomenon to piggy back off of. You had to have talent and good connections. This was when most Ladies kept their clothes on, and they sang for real. This was really nice for this to come out on this channel around the anniversary of her death. May Aaliyah, and her Dad continue to rest in the peace that surpasses all understanding. I still remember where I was the day I heard that she died, and I told the guy at the amusement park that day, "what a sick joke". Sleep on Princess Aaliyah.

Who knew that Aaliyah was estranged from Missy and Timbaland when she died?!! I'm shocked bc I thought the three of them remained tight all the way up until her tragic passing. She was probably seeing how toxic they were being to her life & career & decided to cut them out of her life Aaliyah said in an interview "When it comes to my life & my career don't get in my way" this girl knew what she wanted she just needed to have the right people who were going to do right by her. I'm guessing she was cutting out the cancers because they weren't helping her they were helping themselves & those toxic people were pissed, angry, bitter, jealous, humiliated & didn't like that they couldn't control Aaliyah like a puppet. So they decided to blow out her candle because she would've been a huge superstar & they would've been left at the waste side while she shown like one of the brightest star. In a way Aaliyah's free now she won't have to deal with those toxic people ever again they will never be able to touch or harm her. This woman would've been went from being the princess of R&B to the queen of R&B & she was real smart if her career slowed down I can see Aaliyah going to college & getting a degree & get a great job this girl had it all.

Omgggg I had to comment again the closer it got to the end so my Apologies for multiple post🤷🏾‍♀️😂😂 but watching this has brought back so many memories and fun times… especially the end of the 90s/earlier 00s when I was a teen/young adult woman and remembering how fun, original and HAPPY music used to be and make me feel😩I quickly reminisced about house parties in this era and when ppl actually went to the club to DANCE and NOT stand TF around😂😂 this vid also made me realize how simplistic life used to be for those of us who knew how to navigate, live life and have fun W/O social media and your phone pulled out for every mf thing 🤌🏾👌🏾😂😂😂awww man I needed to see this this good Sunday morning 🙌🏾🥰 THANK YOUUUU 😘

Hype williams is a piece of crap for taking that private jet for himself and I hope Lenny Kravitz sued him. Her uncle is a piece of crap because he profited off of her death.

Aaliyah was not only beautiful and talented, she was extremely humble. No matter what setback she faced in her life, she never gave up. She knew in her heart she was gonna be a star. She knew her worth. That’s what I admire about her and her legacy continues on.

This is frightening. Always heard people say hype took her plane, her uncle had insurance on her and they didn't need to go to miami but this video reveals more. The underwater thing is sinister, forcing her to go underwater. Why not change it when she had difficulties, almost like they planned to off her but she survived. She was just about to go on holiday with Damian and they force her to go to Bahamas for nothing? So she never had a holiday then they took her plane, Fatima took a picture of her sleeping. Her boyfriend said not to go on the plane at all plus other things and the plane didn't even get to 100 ft before banking. An old beat up plane for her. The pilot took off although it was 'too heavy'. Who would force a pilot to fly overweight knowing it's dangerous and why did he do it, signing his death? How much did her family know and did they allow it? What did lenny think?

And why did the uncle, five days prior to her death, go to a professional to have a contract made, making him 0 percent responsible for any injuries, deaths, or misdemeanors while out in the Bahamas for the “rock the boat” shoot… seems like way too many coincidences, and why did beyonces solo career finally start taking off that same year? Why did her and jay a go public that same year right after her death? I really hope all these evil people are served Justice and everything comes to light

The biggest mistake Aaliyah 's uncle made was introducing her to R Kelly ..The 2nd biggest mistake that was EVER made was hiring Hype Williams to direct Aaliyah's video Rock the Boat .& Hype Williams wanting her to travel to film Rock the Boat ..which was the cause of Aaliyah's demise 💔 🕊 🙏🏼🕊

@@celebonypearl3409 because Lenny offered a private jetl instead of a risky dinky overweight cargo plane, until hype TOOK it back to Miami, probably because he knew the plane wasn’t safe

Money, mind control, witchcraft, sex with the wrong person can literally destroy you. It's like they have these sick rituals. They lose their conscience. Then they pretend as if they loved and cared about you. Spiritually sick and selfish souls. They watch while you die and act as if it's naturally occurring. Just an unfortunate accident.

Was in the store when 1 in a million came on. I swear her music beats anything out today and it fits the sound of today. She was so ahead of her time and know that if she had lived music would be different today. Her influence is felt in so many. Did a wonderful job putting this together. Was a fan always but will admit I learned things I did not know, even after all this time. Wendy Williams should have called you when they did that Aaliyah movie.
