Did anyone notice the yellow tiffin box? Discuss here!

Yeah I can remember that yellow tiffin box. As I can remember that box was continuously used to deliver the wants Suman had for Nirmali. It was more like a carrier conveying the deep love which by any chance shouldn't get transparent and safely reach from one end to the other. And that satisfactory smile on Nirmali's face seeing and touching the box knowing what's inside also holds significance of that yellow box.

I think as we often see that Yellow is used as a colour of happiness, joy or say 'a ray of sunshine' but here, it is what inside the box that matters. For Nirmali and Sumon, it is something that gives them pleasure but it isn't transparent coz others may find it disgusting or depressing. Also, it can be a subtle nod to The Lunchbox.

All right. While bright yellow can mean joy and excitement, the tiffin box in the film is a dull, sickly yellow. As a colour, any kind of yellow always sticks out but people's opinion of the colour is very divided because its a very strange and prominent colour. The context it is used in (especially relevant when Nirmali starts hallucinating it) actually represents madness. The yellow stands out as a colour and can also take on new meaning as the film goes on. Since it contains the thing that Nirmali is obsessed with, it's also a colour of obsession. In this case, yellow is a sickly colour (providing a visual cue when Sumon is throwing up) and makes the viewer uncomfortable according to the situation it is put in. (If it had to represent love, Lust, blood, etc, it would have been red). I don't think this is a nod to the Lunchbox but I guess only the creators would know. :)

I've seen this masterpiece on its very day of release as I was so excited. And now this is beyond adjectives.... The way you disect every minute detail to bring out a complete new narrative or perspective to the eyes is so satisfying. Brilliant would not be enough. But yeah..... Incredible.

I starting sobbing at the final scene. If only they had done it before, none of this downward spiral would have occurred. 😭 And why couldn't they do it? It speaks to me more of the way society polices who you can love and how. People are bound more by rules than by the honesty of their feelings.

A few days back, I saw a French film 'Raw' which somewhat reminded me of Aamis. But the only difference being that it's not a love story but a 'coming of age' film and has some very interesting scenes with deeper meaning. I'd love to hear your thoughts if you've seen it. 😊

Does your saree and bindi inspired by Nirmali? PS: Just love to hear you talk about films your observation and repeatability to characters is quite something, I really don't understand how you figure out some much in a scene while watching which when I pass by ignore or don't understand.
