AANE is Now the Association for Autism and Neurodiversity

New name. New website. Same mission.
After two years of listening and learning to ensure that our language reflects the people we serve, we are excited to share that AANE has changed its name. We are now the Association for Autism and Neurodiversity.
We still support the same community and encourage everyone to use the language that makes them feel most comfortable. This is wonderful news! It is so honorable that after 27 years you can accept, acknowledge, and enact the changes that needed to take place. A different autism service my husband and I sought is not there yet, and has aided in our separation and lack of understanding regarding acceptance and inclusion. We desperately needed a AANE certified counselor conducting our Autism Parent Training. Congratulations on the new name and perspective ❤
