​​@@ritsh1995So it's just a matter of misunderstanding. Hey brother, All malayalam movies till late 2000's are shot on analog film cameras. The original footages are stored in the film negative reels. Theatres used to run the positive copies on analog film projectors. Not digital ones. So basically those movies are actually having analog source, not a digital source. They donot have "resolution", since it's a term used for digital content. They can be scanned on specialized equipments into any resolution, depending on the film quality, without any clarity loss. That's the main advantage of analogue source. The 4K scan would be a true 4K resolution; not an upscaled print. But the main disadvantage of analogue source is that they are physical media, and are highly vulnerable to temperature and humidity. Film reels take up large space, and needs to be stored in air conditioned rooms. Otherwise, the content in the films will melt and it'll get damaged. Vintage movies, when they where scanned for televisions and CDs, were scanned only on basic quality and SD resolution (max 480p). That's why even 1080p videos (which are actually upscaled ones) of old movies look blurred. However, Matinee Now team is actually finding the original film negative and positive prints (aka sources) and scanning them to bring the content in true 4K. The earlier print of this song uploaded in this channel had a heavily damaged source, hence the colours were very much distorted. Now they got a better source, and hence they uploaded the new scan. And one more thing, this is not an easy process. The entire footage is to be scanned frame by frame. And colour corrections and all are to be also made frame by frame. Hence it is a very tedious task. Also it's a costly work. We should actually thank them for their efforts.

In both old video (around 2.46 mark) and this new one (around 2.43 mark) there is an extra audible noise ( of an old casio watch's digital alarm) that somehow got into the soundtrack. Its audible if you hear through headphones or decent speakers at good volume. Hope the matinee now team is able to source a pristine audio track of this masterpiece and replace the audio tracks in both these remastered videos.
