@@L1KECLOCKWORK That's nice and all, but it's real easy to say while the team's on a run, on pace for 109 wins, with a bunch of guys in the lineup scorching hot, with the Starting Pitching performing at a ridiculously high level and with the closer still being near perfect. This isn't sustainable. And coming up is a stretch of LAD, @KC, @BOS, BAL and ATL. Have only a couple things go wrong and you're looking at two and a half weeks of barely .500 baseball, maybe below .500, the mood might be quite a different one after that, especially if there are a few tough losses in there.

My grandmother drove until she was 85. The last couple years were constant little accidents until we finally convinced her to stop. But that's the truly hard part.. telling someone who is losing their independence that they can no longer do the thing that basically defined their independence for 60+ years.. It's a hard conversation to have, but necessary.

The 9 hole for me really is a second lead off. You substitute ~100 abs, but you get ~28 more ABs for two of the best hitters in baseball. The other 72 aren’t going to complete slubs either. But Judge and Soto more abs, with what should be more guys on is the key in my opinion.

I never hated him either. I agree with Jimmy that a rule should be made where your skill set is properly used. Angel was really good at balk calls for example and terrible behind the plate. So why have him behind the plate? Im a tax lawyer if my business said tomorrow your going to work sales 1 week and your going to work regular the next. @GavinOCo4 ай бұрын
29:59 Jake, you guys have made tons of references to this sentiment since "Bantering with Boone" has started and it's always irked me a little bit. It's called BANTERING with Boone. I don't think a lot of the audience is expecting constant hard-hitting journalism, with contentious subjects. Some of the ones last season I enjoyed less were specifically because it could become a bit awkward. Now - that's natural - when shit's going bad, you feel a responsibility to interview as the 'journalistic voice of the fanbase' or something along those lines, or just as fans yourselves, and Boone is defensive and losing just sucks But when things are going well? Like okay, you can press him on shit you're genuinely interested in or disagree with, but to feel as if you're doing your audience a disservice whatsoever when you put out a light-hearted podcast with Boone on a segment thats literally titled "banter"? RIDICULOUS Many of my favorite podcasts, and definitely most of my favorite moments from BWB occur during light-hearted and fun episodes/moments like this. Perhaps they're not always appropriate if the Yanks are shit, but don't hold yourself up to the journalistic standards of integrity as the Athletic or some shit. It's Talkin Yanks. I want insight on relationships within the team, personalities, Boone's trivia, fun stories we wouldn't get from post-game interviews - not awkward, contentious, unnecessary differences of opinion, where Boone will have one of his classic, predictable responses. Not saying at all that it's been like that frequently - but the sentiment that you guys give too many "softball" questions? It's dumb, and I think fairly off-base in regards to what the audience wnats Perhaps, contentious interviews receive more engagement and are therefore better for JM, but I really disagree tension is what the audience of Talkin Yanks is looking for, unless it's a byproduct of a genuinely important, interesting, and entertaining interaction. Great episode
