Someone first showed me this video in high school when I started talking about majoring in Graphic Design in college. Years later, with a BFA in Graphic Design, three years into the field, this is still the most useful video I've ever watched in relation to my career.

Aaron is a kickass, All-American, down-to-earth graphic designer. We need more of his ego-less creative passion in this world!

This 15 minutes was more helpful and inspiring than a longer "logo design" course I just watched! The way the text and mark just work together blows my mind; it feels cohesive, it fits the company without being obvious or derivative. Amazing. My key takeaway is to keep it simple and the impact will be bigger.
Watched this 4 years ago and I still use some of his tips & tricks daily in my job

You are cool! Hopefully one day people will stop looking at graphic design as only ‘operating software”. There is so much intelligence and creativity in designing!

mind you the guy's been doing this his entire life... choices he made look simple but it'll take a lot of research to get there... he just done and seen a lot that's why he could instinctively do this

You are a bad ass. I paint and draw but have a graphic Tshirt design request. Your videos and your book always give me a hell yeah I want to make something cool right now. Thanks for the boost. My drawing mentor quote “if it’s not a big beautiful shape, no one is going to care about it” -Joseph Mann I feel like you would give the same advice.

At 9:52 how in the sweet Jesus does he scale that triangle proportionally from the top, using the bottom edge as a reference?
@barnardco3 жыл бұрын
I figured it out. With the move tool selected, set the reference point (that little 3x3 grid-looking tool next to the align tools) to the middle bottom block, then hold SHIFT and drag. Phew!
