If he would have became the same player. I don't see the teams actually admitting why they passed on him but he comes off as a basket case. He doesn't handle losing well as in he loves throwing teammates under the bus. If he landed on a team that needed to rebuild and was thrown to the wolves right away he could have flamed out.

@k1ng_chamberlain Not him but I would say that life flies by real fast. I'm 36 now but it seems like yesterday that I was in high school chillin with the boys in the cafeteria lol, that was 18 years ago. You also don't have as much energy when you're older and easily feel more tired when you do stuff. Stay consistent with the gym (3 full body days or a 4 day upper/lower split) and don't let perfect be the enemy of good. Even if you get a short workout in and miss some stuff, it's fine. Don't beat yourself up for not being "optimal." Something is a lot better than nothing. Family and friends get sick and pass away a lot quicker than you think. Cherish your time with them now and always try to make time for family and friends, work can wait. Just asking this question as a young dude says a lot about your intelligence. You're a smart dude and I'm sure you'll figure it out bro! Let me know if you have any questions. I'm rooting for you! 🤗💛

As a Packer fan, this was a very happy day for me. I knew that whoever replaced Favre would have big shoes to fill but somehow I felt that Rodgers was the right guy to do it. A lot of Packer fans felt like they wasted a 1st round pick because they couldn't foresee the day when Favre would be gone. This all worked out perfectly imo. Go Pack!

Guys you can argue that Rodgers is better than A.Smith because of Favre but lets be honest here. Rodgers had and has more talent than Smith. Rodgers had more arm strength and better accuracy. People questioned Rodgers mobility because he didnt have to move in college. Well now... Rodgers has proven he has the moblility, Smith might be a little faster than Rodgers. In the end we all know that Rodgers is the most overall physically gifted QB in NFL history. Can't teach that.

***** If Rodgers went to SF, boy they would be a dynasty, no questions asked. Great defense with an elite qb at center for the offense. Glad he's in GB. Now, if only GB's defense could pick it up, there will be more superbowls to come for Rodgers and the packers.
@Kankasin
@Kankasin 10 жыл бұрын
***** totaly agree, if he went to SF we would prolly see 2-3 superbowls picked up by them easily. Actually any top tier qb go to SF would bring them a superbowl appereance easily. Big ben,peyton,brady,rodgers and even rivers would bring them lots of success. But i am glad SF is terrible at picking qbs since montana.

I remember vividly having a conversation with one of my home boys leading up to this draft saying that Aaron Rodgers had the potential to be a top 5 QB in the next 5-7 years. He was the only one who agreed with me. Though he didn't go that far, he didn't agree about the top 5 comment, he thought he'd be a potential HOF player if things fell a certain way. As a Packers fan, I didn't think there was a chance he'd fall to us. I watched a ton of his games and I couldn't see how so many teams could pass.

Some people had made the comment Rodgers had a bad release and weak arm. Well, he did have a Tedford developed realease coming out, but it has been fixed. He always had a strong arm. Good article about this on ESPN - "Aaron has a very strong arm and really always has," McCarthy said. "We dropped his ball carriage. Now, it's a little more fluid and that helps him transition. He's clearly one of the better guys I've had the opportunity to work with" McCarthy

i love aaron rodgers. he is always calm during games and off the field. he gets better every day, he's tough, and we see a lot less interseptions than we used to with brett... also a few less TD's and amazing lucky throws. I love brett favre (not as a viking though), but aaron rodgers will do just as good if not better than brett did. he's smarter with just as good of an arm and accuracy. it also helps aaron that he actually has good revievers... brett makes minnesota's look good.

@skedardestroyer Some teams just draft really well. The Packers have been insane at drafting the last few years. Nick Collins, BJ Raji, Aaron Rodgers, Desmond Bishop, Tramon Williams, Jermicheal Finley, Jordy Nelson, Gregg Jennings, Matt Flynn, Josh Sitton, etc. The Steelers are the only other team that has had similar success drafting. It is an in-exact science but some teams really do their homework and hit on most picks.

That was Tom Brady before he became TOM BRADY. He was still raw and young, and the fact that he had the ability to take his team down the field to set up the game winner, in the Super Bowl no less, is great. No one is forgetting Troy Brown and his contributions, but the Pats weren't winning 3 super bowls without Tom Brady as their QB. And Neil O'Donnell? Really? He wasn't half the QB Brady is.

last years Cowboys vs Packers game, they would have got murdered if Favre stayed in there, because he wasn't going along with the teams strategy, he tried being the old favre, the gunslinger, and the packers were getting handled, but rodgers came in there and was very mobile and sticking to the gameplan and almost pulled it off for the packers.but one game is one game, but he did really good in that one, and it was a very big game to come into and do that,it impressed me a lot.

The Packers have a Superbowl ring in their 3rd year with Rodgers, and have a franchise QB set for a new dynasty in this new decade. The 49ers just fired their coach and have been scratching their heads over whether they want to suffer with Alex Smith or Troy Smith the last few years. It's incredible how little you can predict about the future.

Favre is not selfish, he is not a prema-donna, even at 40 last year he ran 25 yards down field and laid out Patrick Willis the D player of the year. Not many QBs would do that, Favre is a player he sure does not need the money. I have a lot of respect for Favre, he is an amazing player and for a non kicker pr punter to play that many consecutive games, only Jim Marshall and Favre have done this. Iron men, and I doubt any other Qb will break that record.

Rodgers is the ONLY QB in NFL History to have back-to-back 4000-yard/95+ passer rating seasons to open his starting career. Oh, and he did it under enormous pressure and behind a shaky OL in 2009. And he didn't miss a game. Comparing him to Cutler? Please.
@Derlowemann

I never said Rodgers was not a good Qb, he is very good. But I still believe he is so good because of Favre and waiting in the wings learning the system. No matter what anyone thinks you know Favre taught him well, that is what Favre does, he brings out the best in players and wants to teach them.

That's the thing Smith confidence doesn't shattered easily. He's been with a bad team all his career but now all sudden they're good and the reason he's still with the Niners is mainly because his work ethic. He is perseverance. It'll take times for him to climb back to when he was drafted but he can never be that same guy again. He can go a different route and adjust to becoming a good QB on his own term.

Totally agree EmJay. It's such a mistake to draft a QB when you really need one. A rookie should always sit for at least a year or 2 before getting thrown out there. If Smith got to sit and Rodgers had to start in his first year, we could very well be looking at a very different situation right now. I've always felt the same way about David Carr too. Turning him into the sack king in Houston ruined his career. I hope he gets a chance to start again someday.

@aligborat I agree Rodgers is the best quarterback I have seen play in the nfl. I think he is the second best QB in the nfl right now. How many quarterbacks can be that good without a running game, ok offensive line, and without finley. He can also make a play out of nothing because he is so athletic something that brady or manning cannot do because they are not as athletic as rodgers. He truly is a special quarterback and I am glad he plays for my favorite team.

Rodgers is a stud. He is so underapreciated in this league because he replaced a legend and wasnt as good initially. I think he is possibly better than favre because of what he is given to play with. Favre has a well sculpted team and has barely been touched all year, while rodgers had an average of 5 sacks per game. You could blame it on him holding on to the ball too long but in most of those sacks he wasnt given a chance. Rodgers hardly ever throws interceptions and is very good for second yr

He wasn't saying that he thought Campbell was a better prospect than Rodgers, he was just saying that, if nobody took Rodgers before the Redskins at 25, then Campbell might go before him because Joe Gibbs had spoken of his interest in Campbell. Yeah Aaron Rodgers is the man, he didn't need to be protected like they did with later year picks (like Brady Quinn) by sending them into the back room. He just stood there and took it and after learning behind Brett, he certainly was ready.
