This song annoyed me when I was young, but now that I'm a bit older, I'm finding out what Aaron is talking about here. Great song.

live sounds damn near better than recording studio......love it....saw him in 1992 in St. Cloud, MN with Hank Williams Jr.....Hank was good, but Aaron brought the house down.....Aaron should have opened....

I never heard this song until people started calling it into request lines after the 2020 election. Good song.

At the time I couldn't understand how such a racist song could be played on the radio...honestly I thought he was saying "It ain't nothin' but a small frame house on a "n" lot..." Yes, from how the lyrics (and it didn't help that he looked/sounded like a redneck stereotype) sounded I honestly thought he was calling a place where black people live an "n" lot! It wasn't until a later Kenny Rogers song came out that said "Two room house on an ACRE lot" more clearly that I realized Aaron said ACRE lot.

Aaron was the Sam Elliott version of country music back then, pretty close, lol
