I bought the version just before the Evo I believe and fitted the Dry Pack Pro ...which does slow fill-time a little and also extends pressurising times. But worth it I feel for cleaner air. Mine doesn't have that blow off valve or the manometer but has the 310 bar higher limit etc. Hill have been EXCELLENT in providing me with any information on queries I had....temp. cut-offs changing with bar pressure etc. and just confirmed with their expertise that this is a brilliant piece of kit. I worried when I bought it that I was spending as much as a nice pcp on it, but it has proved it's worth over and over!! Great British Company!!! Well done all at Hill. 🙂

Bought the Hill ec 3000 evo last week with the pro pac after weeks of reserch ..fills my Hw 100 and AGT Vulcan 3 in no time ..cracking compressor and the sales team are absolutely brilliant and really helpful...well done Hills great to see the UK doing it properly .

I gotta ask how’s it performing after a year? And also how is the Vulcan 3 performing after all that time as well? I’m just getting into pcp’s and saw they made a evo-310 for the American market which is basically this one but with a white instead of green accent, and I’ve seen the Vulcan 3 has good reviews, I started with the Umarex Notos(had a small budget to begin but I’m planning future upgrades)

@cesarvarela5438 the Hills pump is fantastic i really couldn't say a negative thing about it at all ...as for the V3 thats a different story I ordered one and while waiting got a 2nd hand one I had nothing but problems with it not holding zero and reg dropping so I put it down to been 2nd hand then the new one arrived and was just as bad hit and miss reg issues not holding zero one shot spot on the next a good 10 inch off ..the whole carry on with AGT v3 pulling reg and adjusting then putting back in was a fxcking pain in the arse so I sold it and now have a RTI P3 which is tuned and it is so much better than the v3 ...the reg can be tweeked without pulling it and it holds zero ..far far better than the vulcan .. Quite a few lads I know got rid of the v3 and bought the RTI P3 mines in .25 ... look them up ..I got the power plenums and the donny silencer its a beast .

I have the one before this evo and all i can say is wow what a bit of kit. I have had other compressors in the past and nothing has come close to how well this is made and performs. Ok it is more expensive than a lot of them but that is for a very good reason. There better made and last longer without any issues and do the job that they were built to do and does it clean and efficiently so in my eyes well worth the money. Had mine over a year now and no issues what so ever. So thank you Hills for such an awesome bit of kit. Best of British.👍👍Great review and thank you for all the great content you provide us with each week. Keep up the awesome work.👍👍

I too have seen first hand how the Hill EC-3000 compressor is made, everything is made/built in house or from local companies, the evo is next level. The team are very proud of what they produce, I for one can confirm that there is NOTHING on this compressor is from China.

I spent weeks considering so many compressors, I primarily need to feed my Uragan 2 with its large 500cc cylinder and occasionally keep a 3 Litre scuba bottle topped up. I don't need a compressor in the field. Your review helped me to finally make my mind up. I just bought the new Hill's EVO-310 with the air cleaner at the best price available at this time.

Another great and honest review. I’ve already got and love the simplicity of my current compressor but I wouldn’t rule out the EVO if or when I need a replacement. Impersonally think it’s reasonably priced considering the build and quality control that each unit goes through. Keep up the good work Andy, your unbiased reviews not doubt have saved a lot of us shooters from buying substandard kit.

Awesome! I'd definitely would want one of these. Oughta be pretty well known by now to be one of the absolute best compressors out there - or at least in my opinion. All Brithish design and manufacturing is a big thing in my books (even though I being from Finland).. *IF* I had the money, I'd drive a Bentley Continental GT (though I think they nowadays being owned by the bstrds from VW🙄) ... when not being at home filling my PCP with the Hill compressor..😁

As well as the EC3000 I have bought a Gamo gx40 and BSA r12 after watching your reviews. Word of caution! Bought the Gamo from Vector air, had one or two minor issues but the customer service was above and beyond. Sent me what I needed to do the repairs myself, can't recommend them highly enough. Unfortunately, my R12 had to be bought from elsewhere because of availability issues. RANGE AND COUNTRY. I had a seal fail and replaced it, easy job but still had a small leak which I have since fixed. I reached out to RANGE AND COUNTRY and their attitude was TOUGH LUCK. The warranty was invalidated and they refused point blank to give me even the most basic help. I know that Vector Air wouldn't have treated me so poorly. Lesson Learned, you put your reputation on the line by associating yourself with Vector Air and they don't let you or their customers down.

What a great overview of Hills and clearly they stand by their quality and operation. You can see why they are reputed to be among the best money can buy. Just wish I could afford one 🙂. Given the way that dive cylinder refill costs (and servicing) aren't getting any cheaper, I wonder how far into the future you would need to go before you break-even considering tank costs, servicing, cost of getting it to the dive shop and the cost of each refill itself.

I, too, have the Umarex ReadyAir and have been very happy with its ability in the shed or on the road. But, recently it started releasing pressure before hitting the mark and as a result I purchased the Hill Evo. To my surprise and delight it is MUCH quieter than the ReadyAir! Unfortunately I didn't get the extra dry air filter and will be remedying that situation shortly.

$1900 for a bit of kit of that quality is a bargain..... My air rifle is a springer (no licencing for those here in NZ)... although I do have the necessary licences for a PCP or a handgun for that matter. PCPs are pricey, but I can see one in my future if I live that long, not that I would need such a compressor as that one probably... but then again if I spent $2500 on a PCP rifle, it's not such a huge amount. It is possible this does not happen for small mail order companies - but for wholesale imports or larger sellers who are keen to sell abroad, it most certainly does. If you are interested in a Hills product in the EU, you are probably better served by a local distributor.

@@UnCoolDad The EC-3000 compressor actually have a Swedish importer, but I'm not sure if anyone is sold, it's priced at €1495 here in comparison to a 12 liter dives bottle w/fillkit @ €395 brand new. Such bottles have 10 years hydro here and a fill will set anyone back €10.

It cost £10 a year to test a tank, and it gets tested every 5 years, £10 a year or destroy your house , you and your family. It's a no brainer. ALWAYS ALWAYS USE A TESTED DIVE BOTTLE.

Sorry Andy, but those keyboard warriors are more right than you think. The electronic components and the pcb material they are mounted on will certainly not be UK made, for example.

I even checked that out…. and unless you are trying to find a single chip just to say it’s made in another country, then you’re a tough audience. stay safe

Some electronic components are only made in one country in the world - such as Taiwan. You are being a bit pedantic.

Doesn't make economic sense to me. £5 a fill at shop. Therefore 20 fill = £100. 200 fills per £1000 sorry Andy rich mans machine

Hi, Like I said in the program, it isn’t for everyone, however, your maths don’t actually add up fully, you missed out the initial cost of your tank (circa £300?) the cost of fuel to and from the shop, possible parking fees, the time involved and the reason I bought one in the first place….convenience (priceless to me). But I understand your point, just as we don’t all need a high end PCP’s when a £50 springer will fire a pellet down range, But I’ll stick to my Engineered PCP’s…thanks again for your comment, stay safe. Andy

A 3 minute drive to the dive shop in the local swimming pool…. My 300 Bar tank is filled from 180 to 300 bar for only €2,50. Clean air and professionally handled for this money is something I can not justify any purchase of a compressor for.

sounds handy that you live about 1km from a fill source, sadly not everyone does, I would say this isn’t for you, maybe it’s more for the rest of us who live a long way from a fill source. stay safe, thank you for your comment.
