I don’t really understand your fr measurements. They do look compensated, but to which target. Or are they raw?
@Triple-67 күн бұрын
Yea man, I’ve brought this up a couple times but Aaron doesn’t seem to want to talk about it much. These measurements are raw man. That’s crazy huh? They look so off that you’d think they were compensated. I know I wondered the same thing a while back. I understand a GRAS rig or especially a B&K 5128 is prohibitively expensive. We’re talking the cost of a car. So I get that most people aren’t going to buy one. But you can get a 711 knockoff coupler for two to three hundred bucks or so. I mean… many of these earbuds cost more than that lol. These are the same high quality couplers that sources like Crinacle, DHRME, ReganCipher, many on SquigLink, etc. etc. use. There’s just no excuse to severely cripple yourself by using some random contraption that doesn’t even attempt to replicate the human HRTF. It just totally invalidates all of your data and audio recordings. They’re only even remotely useful in comparing against each other. But even then, I wonder because I sometimes see a measurement like the AZ80 which somewhat resembles the accurate data then I see something like the AZ100… I mean there’s no proper measurement for them yet, but there’s no way they sound like that. When we see SoundGuys, RTINGS, DHRME, etc. measure ‘em, remember this comment.

That treble tuning by the AZ100 is not nice. To sibilant and harsh, specially on louder volumes. ANC also had some annoying wining noise that took over so I much prefer Sony, Sennheiser and even Denons ANC over Technics. I was very into TWS, but after the batterries died on couple of my premium ones that I used everyday while working. So let’s be honest a heavy non stop use. (B&O EQ and B&O EX ) I came to a conclusion that I will be better off with wired iems and buying a BT dongle DAC/amp. As when it’s baterry dies Incan still use it as a dac for my computer or more easily replace it. While the wired iems will last me for ages. Now I’m happy with my Fiio BTR17 And something like the Sivga Que, KZ PRX, Leteciel Shark and ISN EBC80 ( my end game ) Will be buying the cheaper yet still good „disposable” tws that I won’t mind dying after a year or so. Earfun and such.

@Icecold_Art7 күн бұрын
@ EX has excellent sound quality, and is tuned really well. It has a fantastic frequency response graph. But the baterry problems are real until We will develop a real new technology that will last longer and wont degrade as quick. The Sivga Que is a 70$ iem with outstanding build and accessories. It sounds very good and close to the ex if You would EQ a bit more bass to it. But if You would like a „true” wired replacement I’d suggest going the way of Dunu DaVinci, Sound Rhyme SR7, Xenns Mangird Tea pro, or my beloved ISN H60. They are all hybrids with multiple drivers, unlike a single driver and dsp in the beoplay EX. Fiio BTR15 or 17 with in app parametric eq in app and You are all set for many years. The only thing missing would be ANC. But with iems and good seal, you get good passive isolation.

That causes me to question the sound quality test as well because as much as you guys might try to give us sound quality samples, we know it doesn't match the actual musical production of headphones on our ears, so we take your word. From the past few mic tests, your ears are now untrustworthy.

I suggest you listen to the samples again. When it comes to mic quality, i look for noise gating, voice filtering and amplication. It’s a totally different metric from how sound quality is assessed. You should also listen to the samples with all your devices set to flat EQ. Cheers.

It's very annoying. If you are maybe a casual listener who only use the buds for 3-4 hours at a time then I guess Huawei is not bad.
