Umbrella is impossible. The fence foundation does NOT drop down it snaps. If anyone has any idea of how yo help would appreciate it

I build this on crystal isle. I couldn't build the umbrella for some reason. Maybe because I'm on console. However, I felt the bottom of the house was wasted space so I added an Adobe door frame and turned it into storage. Love your video builds. Also built one of your hatcheries

Good day, I just found your channel as I was looking for some building help, I subscribed instantly. I love the detail you give us in the materials being used, the position of everything, and the layouts. Do you draw these plans out before hand on graph paper and or do you just do it as you go. Also is this all done with the standard game or do you use mods like S+, or Castle, Keeps and Forts or anything else like those. Another awesome build! I honestly gave up on trying to get the umbrella to hold itself up without the walls and first used Aaron’s alt idea of using a railing to replace the first thatch wall up top before removing the bottom one. Still broke but it made work (decor wise) by just replacing the whole thing with railings then added descending railings beside it. So the replaced railings over the walls would take 3, then put 2 next to it then 1 around on the edge. Paint it cyan and bam! Beauty

Amazing build!! Umbrella didn't work, so I had to stick a fence foundation ON the edge, that worked! And I used tek triangles ♡ so shiny

I couldn't get it to work either. I could get the foundation to snap to the ground, but it always said it was out of placement range. I tried sticking foundations on the edge of the umbrella but it all just collapsed as soon as I took the walls out. Edit: What I ended up doing was placing fence foundations so that they all converged in the middle and then building pillars down from there. It doesn't look AS good, but at least it didn't fall down, and it has little tassel bits on the corners that look a little fancy as well.

hello lily, if you look at the structure, you have to hold down the E key. then select the option select model and click on no sides. I hope you can understand everything. my English is very bad. :/

Another beautiful building. I can never get everything to snap exactly like the videos but I made a pretty decent tree house. Sadly after all that work my save files got corrupted and I lost most of it. Don't know why but the backup save files didn't resolve the problem. Think I'll try to make my gal a beach house. Ark is the only game she plays anymore. I spend most of my time playing Warframe with my daughter and grandson but I need to give her some attention too. Edit: On my Ragnarok map those coordinates are in deep water.

Aaron, i used pillars and ceilings as the "foundation" as my water was deeper than a couple of walls. i'm using Super Structures Mod, but can use vanilla components as needed. i've tried both thus far for the umbrella. the wood fence foundation doesn't "drop" as you say, it will actually connect to the triangle ceilings, so i tried additional pillars under the ceiling "foundations", i tried using triangle foundations in the same shape as the umbrella and as no matter what, as soon as i remove the thatch walls and pillar as your video shows, it all falls flat. which makes me sad :( what can you suggest? love your builds! thank you.

Worked for me on regular console ark. The fence foundation didn't drop as such for me, one placed on the triangle ceilings and then the next snap was below, as if it had fallen. So I placed it. And it worked. Also ensure you remove the pillar first once the umbrella is built, followed by the top thatch wall and finally the bottom one.

I built it today and it worked for me. You need to place the fence foundation looking from above to the exact triangle ceiling as he showed and the foundation will appear in the ground. (I am not on creative either so I placed the fence foundation looking from the balcony) You can demo the pillar and thatch walls once the fence foundation is placed as shown.

Hi Aaron Longstaff I love your building a lot, very nice looking & design, all my tribe member also happy with the base, I have build few base by watching the building design on your video, tree house, large house & etc. but 2 bad I on PVP cluster server all build base on metal or tek for batter defense, but because I on PVP server I need a very large house that can keep all my stuff & building inside 1 building or a castle. so I can put all my industrial forge, tek replicator, tek clone inside the base for batter and easy defense, can please help to design a base that is fit to my need and looking good. thanks on advance.

I just built this on my server but when building the umbrella I built it and took down the thatch walls as instructed and the whole umbrella just got destroyed. I’ve tried it twice and it just won’t stay 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Lat and Lon are off by 5 or so which made me eyeball where the house really was off of the video. Completely screwed up the foundation levels. Next vid, try showing what the L/L is for each side of the front foundations. Other than that, great vid!

I tried so many times and finally able to do it. Maybe what he meant is "use triangle ceiling" to aim for the spot and use ur hotkey to switch into fence, it will be able to place on the ground instead. But u have to look at it at higher spot. For me I was riding on Mammoth when doing this. Good luck.

You have to attach the wood fence foundation to the edge (Xbox RB) so that when it attaches it drops to the ground. This way the umbrella is still tied to the fence foundation but the foundation is hidden under a wood foundation when you cover it up. It's a little building trick.
