I feel myself reminded of watching my dad play (now definitely) ancient games in 94 or 95 with the artstyle this went for. Walls of Rome comes to mind. Interesting feeling for sure.

I've learnt so much already from this - that you can size up crates and hearths, and that houses are just designations and you can group them and draw walls around them

were you going for "Tiananmen Square"? Also, how would the roundness of a structure relate to historical events of a place in China? I'm only 6 minutes in so perhaps I haven't seen what you are referring to yet.
