Two things: 1.) I’m back again for the drama & speculation 2.) I seriously don’t get the whole hate on Brodie thing. Anybody with half a brain who actually spends the time listening to Brodie would see what a genuine dude he is. People just live in a toxic soup and want to bring others in it, I swear! Edit: make that 3 things. 3.) Emily’s confidence is something that the other ladies should fear. Her answer to the question of how does she feel about competing against Kristen when she gets back, 💪💪. This woman will be a force in the near future!

Look ma, Gary mentioned twisted tags! I'm famous! Lol. As far as the hole 16 change, I run the tags league as well as our Wednesday sanctioned league. I make harder layouts but I have to keep it reasonable for the MA 4 players. The pro tour making a change that feels like me holding back is pathetic. As a local pro, I like to be challenged. Gary, you did great! Thanks for the Emily Weatherman interview it was fantastic hearing more from her. The Upshot had Jussi on to preview the European Open and they discussed the Hole 16 changes. In short, the PDGA is to blame. They don't like being inconvenienced. They don't like the Buncr rule for being different and a rule that only the European Open uses. They also don't like TDs citing the European Open when applying to get their own Buncr rules approved. It's a complete joke. Zero reasonable justification. They don't care about entertainment and what's best for the sport.

I had to come on this you tube side just to make a comment. I was just last week at Nokia Beast at the European Amateur Open, and I have to say. The rule on 16 is the stupidest invention in the whole world, ever. Because I was thinking it like you Brodie on this episode but no, there was a dude in our group who broke the code even better. He took he’s first shot on the first tree, about 20m and smiling and I was thinking to my self, “well that was a bad shot” then on second, he just tossed the disc ob without even trying. Then just with a big smile he walked to the DZ 2 and said, “you know what, I could take the par, but why even try?” Tossed the disc under the basket and dunked the bogey, on a hole that used to terrify everyone who has ever played the whole. I have no more words for this change, it just makes me so sad 😢

Brodie needs to be in charge of PDGA you have a lot of great points on to improve the game. And you take a more proactive approach then which we have now do nothing and pander to a base that doesn’t even get it.

They need to expand their recruiting talent pool for commentators to beyond just volunteers from the players parking lot. How many colleges and universities offer programs in sports broadcasting. How many audition tapes would they get if they opened things up? Hundreds? Gary is a good example. Just some random dude but a solid co-host. Really solid co-host. Side note. Trevor asked Brian when he was on his show if he watched PGA broadcasts for ideas. Brian , straight up said no. Said he just figures stuff out on his own. I don't get it.

My only concern with different layouts due to weather. What happens when the weather changes mid day and the early day players had easy conditions and the leaders teeing later get the harder layout with bad conditions and wind. (Or reversed)

The thing is Brodie, the mpo courses are long. The fpo versions are ridiculous, every hole is like a 200ft shot(s). People like holley finley complain and complain and the dgpt wants the illusion of competition so they keep the courses short with no separation potential

Oh and caddies have to go too because they provide a performance advantage for players who have them. And plus the card mates talk more when they have caddies and that becomes a distraction to other players in between shots.

sometimes I think half the issue with live coverage is the players not stepping out of the cameras way after their drive, which makes the producing team cut to the other camera when they don’t have any coverage of the flight Then you have Ian or who else commentary kind of in a loss

Oh talking to a card mate might become a distraction for others and what if one card mate will talk to one card mate but not another; that could be a competitive advantage. You might consider making it a rule that no talking is allowed unless you are calling someone out in the rules.
