Ab-Soul has offered his thoughts on Drake and Kendrick Lamar‘s beef, claiming that Drizzy never had a chance against K. Dot in a rap battle.
The Top Dawg Entertainment rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday (July 9) to weigh in on the rap titans’ rivalry now that the dust on their recent back-and-forth has settled.

@@ejmcpherson925 Kendrick has never ever said anything impressive. He's just abstractly lyrical wit no quotables bars or verses and his subject matter has been done by the likes of Nas, Mos Def & KRS-One. Drake, despite not being the best lyricist ever has actual quotable bars and verses and that's all that matters when it comes to being lyrical. If you don't have quotable bars you're not top tier lyricist. Case closed.

@@michelleabraham6625 I actually listen to Ab Soul, unlike y'all. Just because he's obscure doesn't make him better than Drake. All you people are gonna do is say Drake has ghost writers and d ride anything Ab Soul makes, same as you all did with Kendrick. The fact that you all have to pretend like 'Not Like Us' is hilarious.
@5hadœwbånnedbyyou
@5hadœwbånnedbyyou 20 күн бұрын
@paulslofilounge Jay Elec would shit on Soul. And has the reputation to do so. Real Rap listeners never forget. Ab may have his path, but that path has him in the lane of after thoughts. But this is what TDE does, they feature in on the target when the conflict isnt over. But if you knew this, you'd know SZA is a replacement for the original female voice of Top Dawg Entertainment. The dirt is lifting and it stinks. And the main shooter is catching strays bc a might as well be gay Compton rapper let a real culture vulture into a Hood Day gathering. Rock and Q the only ones not looking stupid rn. Bc those two are the hardest of that four. And they always stuck to the music, rather than call out nggas they don't like. Ab talks as if he would be some horro story to Drake. But Ab never really walked up on the Elohim of Rap. Obviously alluding that Kendrick is his hypocritcal leader. Now tell us: What project has Ab-Soul ever dropped that has been deemed as a global classic? With all these insoder occultic details he has. P.S. we'll wait on it this time. 😂
@5hadœwbånnedbyyou
@5hadœwbånnedbyyou 20 күн бұрын
@@michelleabraham6625 I'll put my money on the owl. At least he's putting the occult in your face. Ab is like a reporter of occult knowledge with his schemes. Drake could simply just use the 6 sound on him and go to work. Then next thing you know Ab would have to bring up Pascal Beverly Randolph or som' slick couplets that won't outweigh Drake's. Pause. That's not a glaze. Since 21 is the main one who put the battery in Drake's back to be rapping as good as he is now. But you gon' say its ghostwriters tho. Again. Ab would have a crutch with just simply having memorable hooks if not anything that doesn't refer to an element of Psychoactive conclusions. And that will get tiresome after a while on a wax battle. That's the problem with Rap fans, they want bars and intellectual chaos but no total packages. We want memorable lines, beat switches, fore hooks or audio cuts if no hook, sensible insults, not things we have to decode bc the rapper forces a parable. And the public has to putcast you for not liking the parables. Fk no man. Im tired of that from TDE. Keep that on Side B. Kendrick and Ab would fail at the total package standard. And Black Hippy weren't even all that real. Theres no proof of them making over 200 songs like the Migos. So that's always been a false group narrative on some LA dudes that linked up bc Anthony thought it was a great idea for money and prestige. 😂 But the people claim they just want Niceness rhyme schemes. That's not going to alone save you when it's real smoke. Not public hype. But I see TDE doesn't want no real smoke with that Samurai. He had to mention Amy Winehouse for Kendrick really wake up. Y'all know Y'all place. 🤣🤣💀

Bro go watch Finding Forrester. That's what the award is really about. Not no damn Rap record. Joseph Pulitzer, yes I said his name goofy. Created a system of sponsorship, to award "writers" and "journalists" of the literary form. So the real question is. What gay shxt did Kendrick really do to receive it? Bc when O watched the ceremony he was clearly dapping up Don Lemon. 😂😂 They hit ya boy with the Michael Luther King when he was probably in a hotel the day before having the women he actually likes. Even his Pulitzer is full of crap. Just like Rupi Kaur's Poet of the Decade is crap. Just like Amanda Gorman is crap. Crap artist selling identity politics bc the American public is addicted to racialism like they are to iPhones Talk Black to me how Kendrick talked to you on Not Like Us. I would say Drake chose the wrong time to diss Kendrick. He should have done it in 2014 right after the control verse and at the height of his power. But he missed his chance or he was too scared to lose.

With Ab-Soul, there were no lies told! LL Cool J knew the righteous thing to say! Snoop Dogg, even though neither side he denied, he finished by saying which ONE [KDOT] is on the Winning side! At this point, drake can’t even compete with lil Heiress, that’s how good she is compared to him.

'boldly' is a funny word here. Most of us already knew Drake was nowhere near Kendrick as an MC. The big question of the beef was really how dirty, dark and commercial Kendrick could get - because we all knew that's where Drake would take it. He could never hang with Kendrick just off pure rap.

Anybody who thought Drake had a chance is definitely a casual. Drake couldn’t do nothing with Pusha and didn’t want no problems with Joe. Kendrick barely pressed the gas on that colonizer.
