Your tutorial videos always let me know how something works and the confidence to do it Roger. You should have your own TV show, not necessarily all Skill Builder stuff. You could teach ppl like 41 year old me how its possible for aeroplanes get off the ground and how cruise liners with 4000 + ppl on board dont sink.

Very impressive work young man . Thinking back to the early days when wet rooms were starting to appear and the materials available . I have never liked envelope cuts on wet rooms because the cut edges are sharp so the grouting it critical. This puts the cuts to the wall. It is way better.

Hi. How would you do a wet room with a bath in the area where you would shower if you were going to shower there? Ie, prepare a bathroom to be a wetroom but with a rolltop bath over the wetroom drain? There is a reason for this. Thanks Bearing in mind the weight of the water in the bath plus person.

Hi Steve We get a fair number of emails every week offering us sites where we can do up people's houses in exchange for a video. Sadly for them it is really not worth it because without sponsorship there just isn't enough money in KZbin to cover our costs, let alone make a profit. A shower room such as this is over £15.000

Is the former 28mm thick to match the build up of the rest of the subfloor, that being 18mm chipboard plus 10mm abacus floor boards?
@SkillBuilderАй бұрын
yes but it also needs to be thick enough to allow for the fall to the middle and the thickeness of the drain.

Great presentation thank you. I have concrete floor - I guess it's its a much bigger job if I try to use this system Roger?

You might have some positives too though. The floor is solid, no flex. Cut out a channel for the pipework using an angle grinder and drill.

Not to be nitty, but at 14.25 the 2nd floor tile in with the channel, doesn't sit flush with the tile.
@SkillBuilderАй бұрын
Mad Dog That is not nit picking, it is the sort of thing the customer will pull me up on. So often these jobs are let down by the tiling. I think there is a slight camber on that tile because it looks o.k at the drain but it should have had a tile levelling spacer under it to bring that low end up. I would never lay a large format tile without levelling spacers because a millimetre here or there can create pooling. Fortunately with this one it ran down the edge of the channel until it found its way in.
