You stated he can only get re-roll wounds with Pactbound Zealots, but there's another way. If you put him in a squad of Chosen and also attach a Master of Executions, then you can get re-roll Wounds for targets under half-strength. This can be an efficient way off finishing off big tough targets with a 4+ invulnerable save, as you could fire enough guns to hit the threshold then use the rest of your shooting to hit other targets knowing that Abaddon + the Master of Executions can quite reliably finish the target off

@@Nikita40000 yup, looks like it's deliberately 2CP to penalize the Chaos Lord, who will of course get it for 1CP and makes great use of it to fish for up to D4 Dev Wounds. Unfortunately, this hits other characters that can't get stratagems for -1CP of their normal cost...

He is NOT insane on every level. He is an expensive glass-cannon. Yes, he kills most of what you actually get to charge, but after losing the god-specific keywords and the legionary re-rolls to wound, he lost a fair amount of damage potential as well. Even before that he could still struggle with C'tan, Norn Queens etc, despite getting the charge of, but the problem is that he tends to die rather fast after his initial charge in the game. He is actually easier to kill than 3 terminators, due to actually having toughness 4 most of the time if he joins Chosen. :-/ If you play against someone that does actually let him get of successive charges though, sure, he becomes a monster, but that requires pretty ideal conditions/opponents in my experience and it does not happen often enough to justify his cost. Most seem to use him as a tank re-rull buff for that reason and that is a bit of a sad thing I think. I wish they made him tougher, cheaper and only granted him re-rolls to infantry, mounted and walkers. He should be leading from the front when used.

Abbadon leads for the shadows most of the time, so I don't have a problem with him giving buffs to tanks. Edit: also in renegade raiders he can jump out of a land raider and get rerolls to hits and wounds to something on an objective which is great since his strike will go to AP-6

@Motorcitynights He is in fact very much described as a "Warrior King" leading from the front in the Black Crusade series and he also did so during the Horus Heresy etc. Being forced to be a general/admiral due to neccessity does not show his preference. He loves fighting so much that he damned well shed tears of joy when in a good fight in the Siege of Terra series. :-P Him granting re-rolls to Vehicles would have fit Perturabo a whole lot better.

He can still get rerolls to wound in pactbound zealots from one of the strategems, I also just like the model and converted mine to be night lords so inn be play him for the rule of cool

Abadon is is a force of nature… until 2 units of bloodletters lead by blood master and skull taker with a rendmaster buff absolutely delete Abby and his terminator unite. I have done this

have you tried 2 Rendmasters on an imperial knight that has been battleshocked can confirm 1 unit of 10 with skullmaster and buffs from skarbrand and bloodthirster within 6" gave them a lot of damage

@ the only issue with using blood crushers for that is Scarbrand doesn’t give the Bladed horns an extra attack because they have the “extra attack” keyword. It’s an interesting detail that I found out recently. In my opinion it’s more effective using bloodletters for this damage combo. Because in your scenario blood letters would go up the damage 4, hitting on 2’s with 30 attacks.

@@zacharyrosmanitz7547 yeah sorry meant to say skulltaker with bloodletters to prox the dev wounds Or as you said bloodmaster with the +1 to wound Agrath is good for attacks as strength but i think the new enhancment for re-roll hit and wound at the cost for D3+1 mortals is alright
