unlike the lion the khan demonstrated his warp ability once before, he could somehow materialize his will into a blade to kill ghosts during the great crusade, and considering the white scars are one of the most spiritual and psychoactive legions and Magnus said it out right that the khan is a latent psyker, I have no doubt that the khan will return with some crazy psychic powers when he does return

Mortarion is a petty loser, perpetually whining about how he's been done wrong by the universe. He had every opportunity, but he played himself at every step and never gave anyone any of the credit they deserved. Nothing was ever going to be good enough for him, so he burned everything down around him trying to get the better deal and betrayed everything that mattered to him including his hatred of psychers and the warp. It's not a surprise, narratively, that the Khan beat him the way he did. But very satisfying.

After rereading the Warhawk I think the white scars could have endured the enslaver plague. Hence I wonder what would happen if the death guard would have endured and Mortarion would not be forced to embrace the decay?
