Abandoned 1966 Ford F100 sitting for 18 years! The $50 beater truck! Will it run? "Ran when Parked"

This 1966 F100 showed up on Facebook Marketplace this summer and I couldn't pass it up being so close to home. So we went to check it out. There's some usable parts on it but it's a total basket case. Even though it runs and drives surprisingly well! Especially having been parked in the trees 18 years ago and left for dead.

when my old ford was sitting. grab a trans bottle with a nozzle on it, clamp it onto the fuel pump intake and gently squeeze as you fire it over. It helps lube the fuel pump and stops the diaphragms tearing. an old farmer taught me that trick when my classic Ford refused to pull fuel, also add a little 2 stroke oil to help lube the seals. It's worked for me 9/10 but each to their own

I had a 64. It was a great truck, it got even better when I put 383 with a 727 in it. Once I put the 440 into it, not only did it have power to spare but it got 27 miles to the gallon. And this was in the eighties. Yes, it was a Ford truck and yes I put the Dodge engines in it.

This made me a little nostalgic. I learned to drive in a 66 F100 with a 3spd on the column. It had chicken wire and old license plates holding its front end sheet metal together. No expansion foam hood hinge upgrade, though. Maybe we missed out?

I thought it was a rivet gun but then you grabbed it and it was wire strippers that's awesome those are good to have I usually use a lighter melt the rubber coating and pull it off but sometimes the hot plastic likes to stick to the fingers so those are better and you won't have burned finger tips LOL!

I'm not even sure what size this one is. 223 I believe, but essentially the same bones as the 300. Which yes, is a torque monster that withstand about anything!

Tractors are extremely simple put a battery in it make sure it turns over then take off the sediment bowl it's like a little glass fuel filter clean it out and put some new fuel in see what happens it might require some starting fluid at first or you might have troubles with the Magneto

@@MortskeRepair I honestly don't remember what was in that truck. Didn't have it very long. I dearly remember only 4 engines. a Chevy 250 six that was in my 64 half ton sbss. The only way you could have blown it up was to drain the oil. With any revs the lifters collapsed. a Ford 300 six that was in our 92 F150. Torque and mileage! The little 4 banger in a 75 Datsun truck. And the 5.7 Vortec in my 99 Chevy 2500.
