Joe Schlotthauer yeah the only rust is the old battery box rusted out the inner fender well some. And the box had some dirt in it so a few little holes in the box floor.

Some would say that's a rust bucket, but l'd say it looks sick I wouldn't change the look at all. You've got yourself a diamond in the ruff there dude, nice find.

That bag on the fender is for windshield washer fluid my 66 had one it was before plastic took over everything i like the body better then my 66 but my 1976 the dash and guages where my favorite the square dash,but my 1976 with the emision crap was a bitch to work on the water pumps were a job every bracket each had a bolt that ran through the water pump after 3 waterpumps in 70k miles i switched to chevys ive got over 300k on each chevy no issues my fords never got past 100k miles without having to fix little things that required taking apart half the vehicle to fix

Thanks for all the information! I love learning about things. I remember when I had a 1984 f150 with a 351w the water pump was a mess compared to the other engines I've worked on. Of course doing diesel mechanics for awhile spoiled me. I mostly work on cummins. There water pump is 2 bolts!! and they last forever! those good old Chevys are great too. its always a lot better when you can work on things without taking half the engine apart to get to the part you need to replace. Wow that’s crazy! Same color! Kenny I know that feeling. When I was younger I had pickups up a 1972 Chevy super Cheyenne from a old neighbor lady I used to fix here lawnmower. I only had it for alittle while. It was beautiful and such a awesome truck. I didn’t have anywhere to keep it parked inside so I sold it. I couldn’t bare to see it sit outside cuz it had been shedded it’s whole life. But I miss that truck so much!

Really? how do you tell? Im curious! Id love to hear. I really dont know a whole lot about gas engines. I mainly spent most my time doing diesel mechanics. Thats why I thought it would be fun to mess with this pickup.

It’s sounds like it’s missing pretty bad. I’m just assuming that the exhaust valve it that cyilinder that’s leaking is probably burnt causing it to miss. Looks like a fun project that’s definitely worth working on. Looking forward to more vids
