Hey house lovers and explorers!
Today`s video I have 4 very old country cottages that are just sitting slowing decaying. The first 3 are actually in a row and have been vacated at different times over the years with the occupants just up and leaving a lot of things behind which creates a great visual with the decay and many questions as usual. They would have to have been built about 1900 give or take a few years.
The last cottage is located on a site that almost looks like it was last used as a weekend getaway but originally started out as a functioning farm back in the day. Several old building here but the cottage is one that could easily date back to the 1850`s/60`s.
Hope you all enjoy, cheers for watching :-)

I was born in 1951, l can remember the funny man coming to take away the full pan and replacing it with a fresh one. From memory, they cleaned the pans with creosote, l remember the smell! Lovey watching Aussie content of abandoned houses!

Paul- I don't believe that I have ever properly thanked you for your channel since I found and subscribed a couple years ago. Living in California,USA I will never in my lifetime be able to afford to own my own home. I'm a house lover and view homes like people. Each with a unique personality. You allow me the pleasure of experiencing homes/houses. So a mighty 'THANK YOU" for all that you do. Cheers! 😊

What a great hobby. You are so lucky to be able to keep a record of the homes you come across. Even though I am from California, USA, I always wanted to visit Australia. Thank you for sharing some amazing sites I would not seen even if I had come to Australia. Too old, too many health problems now. Thank you Paul for all your hard work.

That looks like my grandparents house! In the second set of houses, the old settlers home you called it. Except they only had a front porch. Tin roof and the sides had those old “tar tiles” on the sides. My grandfather built it in the 30’s and raised 3 sons & wife (all 3 boys were born there). He had them & his mother& sister to support on 20 acre’s of cotton. Dadddy ( born in 43) grew up picking it by hand. They had 1 cow for milk and grew a garden for their food. Dad & his brothers would hunt for meat. Daddy has said they never went hungry. But he joined the US Army to get away from being dirt poor. We are in North Louisiana.

In the second set of cottages, the first one that looked like an old settlers home. I don’t know if anyone believes in this stuff, but when panning up from the bottom of the fireplace you see a small orb go up and then on the left you’ll see some light flashes from it on the wall as well.

The second cottage in the set of three was so interesting. I agree with you it would be great to see it restored! Be interesting to see what the price would be for the sale property and what it included. The restoration would probably be horrific with the price of lumber and the cost of vintage doors, windows etc. But couldn't it be beautiful. Thanks for the explore!

The second house needed a good clean out and scrub down. Replace a couple of windows and the floorboard, mow around it and cut the briars and you would have a sweet little home. I've lived in some houses that make that place look like a palace but with some paint and TLC they looked a lot better when I left than they did when I moved in.

Hi Paul, You always know where the good houses and cottages are. I like that last one the best. Too bad the interior door was locked and we couldn’t see the rest of the place. I wish we could have gone in that last cottage, the one on blocks that you said was probably moved there. Those cottages look like they were well made. It too bad these old places get vandalized and really messed up. That third cottage was the worse one. I can’t believe that one is for sale. Maybe it’s like you said it could be for the 3 lots. It’s a shame that these nice old places are just left there to rot. I’m sure they have lots of history behind them. Also you have some loud birds. In a lot of your videos you have these loud birds. I wonder what kind of birds they are. We have birds here in the USA but none as loud as the ones we hear in your videos. Don’t get me wrong I like the sounds of these birds, I just want to know what they are called. Thank you Paul for bringing us along on this exploration. It was interesting and enjoyable as all of your videos are. Stay safe and well.

Perhaps the set of three miners cottages are owed by the same person and may have rented them out at some stage until deemed uninhabitable? the first one mostlikly, the middle one l would say had an elderly lady living in it not that long ago, she may have passed away or went into care and had no family or anyone to clean it out so all her stuff remained inside untouched, until looters broke in, ransacked and trashed the place. The first house looked like it was lived in by someone with a little boy, judging from the photo and toys, looks like they left in a hurry only taking what they needed, lve seen that happen quite often in government housing and its so sad because children have to leave all their belongings behind.
