Silent Hill fans have been spreading conspiracies and rumors about a new game for years now, and none of them have led anywhere. Two things not mentioned: 1) the 25th came and went, and he pushed the game trailer thing back to August. 2) The environment we see in the teaser was a $35 forest asset from the Unreal store that just got dropped in. Also the image Blue Box tweeted in late July that sparked further rumors Abandoned is connected to Metal Gear Solid, followed by a statement from Hasan Kahraman that all of the Kojima rumors were somehow impeding work on the game. Now here we are 24 hours after the “real-time trailer app” was supposed to go live, and all we have is a steaming pile of nothing with Blue Box citing unspecified “technical issues” preventing them from launching the app and basically saying “it’ll be ready when it’s ready.”

It definitely isn't Kojima. Rather, it seems like he's someone intentionally leeching off of Kojima's reputation. The way he goes around screaming "I'm Hideo Kojima" actually doesn't seem like how Kojima would genuinely go about this ruse. But... none of those are the nail in the coffin. No, the nail in the coffin is that Kojima would never allow anything, even a teaser, to be released in this state. He's a notorious perfectionist. PT and Phantom Pain both made waves because of their insane levels of polish. Kojima is too much of a perfectionist to tease his game with something suspiciously shoddy, meaning that this is likely genuinely shoddy material trying to garner attention using Kojima's history of misdirection. Besides, let's not forget that sony's official KZbin channel featured a trailer for Life of Black Tiger.

June 2nd 2022 update has the head guy of Blue Box claiming there are no active game projects his studio is working on. To be fair, his daily gaming activity already told us he wasn't working on it, same with his private and very toxic discord, but it seems the other nine "very real and actual people" aren't bothering either. Personally, I don't think Blue Box Studios will ever release a game. They aren't a grifting studio/game dev, but I don't think they have what it takes to produce what they want to produce. I am 85% convinced it is just the one guy and he's biting off way more than he can chew.

I was completely unsurprised today (June 25) when I went Googling and saw that this very hyped up trailer has been delayed until August. It might not even be be a scam. It could just be someone whose ambitions exceed their ability to deliver. They keep going, bouncing from project to project, hoping that one is somehow going succeed despite their lack of resources. But I’ve seen this kind of thing go down many times before in the knitting world with yarn clubs-everything from people who bit off more than they could chew to outright scammers. Yeah, yarn clubs. The premise was you’d sign up, pay a few hundred dollars, and then every month you’d get a shipment of yarn and a pattern to knit. Some of the organizers just couldn’t handle the logistics, or costs were higher than anticipated, and they got overwhelmed and the project failed. But some were straight up scams, with no intention of ever succeeding. I’ve followed a couple of these scams as they unfolded online where the organizers actually faked their own deaths. (I can’t remember their names, this was... thirteen and fourteen years ago.) And then they recreated themselves under a new name and did the same thing again. I wish I was joking. And what I just heard? This whole timeline, the past failed or abandoned projects, a “new studio” taking over the project, but it turns out it’s still the same person, the teasers of product coming soon but constantly delayed-it just is all so reminiscent of those yarn clubs. In the scam yarn clubs, the scammers would delay shipments, pleading illness or being overwhelmed, promising double shipments next month, to keep people from disputing their pre-payments through PayPal. By the time most people twigged to the scam, the window to dispute the charges had expired, and they’d lost hundreds of dollars. The latest news with this Abandoned game? The teaser trailer being delayed until August when a full trailer will be released? I’m trying to keep an open mind... but I’m failing hard. I will happily eat my words if this turns out to be legit. But it’s looking very sus.

I'm gonna stretch a million miles with this theory but let's go: "The Haunting". There was a horror game for the PS2 called Haunting Ground. It is considered a cult classic , which means there could be interest in rebooting or sequeling it, and the bestpart is: it's a Capcom game. If Kojima is working with Konami's biggest rival after being laid out, that would be the most beautiful middle finger in the industry's history. I'm probably wrong, as there is way more evidence pointing to Silent Hill, but it would be really cool if I happen to be right

The Kojima connection seems unlikely, the main reason being that Blue Box seems to have “existed” in some form as far back as 2015. In 2015 Kojima finished MGS5, had a falling out with Konami, and set up his own studio, and his next four years were spent working on Death Stranding. I don’t think he would’ve been setting up a fake developer, launching fake Kickstarters, and putting out alpha builds for fake games during that time.

This isn't an ARG, hidden project by Kojima or anything like that, it is just a failed game dev. He spends more time gaming than anything else, runs private discord servers that are hyper toxic, and according to someone who knows him, Blue Box isn't working on anything. Abandoned's title tells you the fate of every Blue Box project. Abandoned will never release because there will never be anything to release. He'll probably announce a new title soon, or that hint of the "real" title is just him stealth announcing he's abandoned yet another game.

Also, looking at Blue Box's previous "games", I think this is a scanner who's fallen ass-first into an area he has no clue what he's doing, and he's forward, and back peddling so fast to try and figure out what the fuck he's doing.

THANK YOU. This video sums up everything I was thinking on this situation PERFECTLY. Too many people got focused in on the Kojima and Silent Hill connections and when they got denied and looked very unlikely, people dropped this whole thing and are now fully behind the developer 100% and believe everything they're saying, DESPITE THE FACT THAT REMOVING KOJIMA AND SH FROM THE EQUATION HAS THIS SITUATION STILL MAKE NO GODDAMN SENSE. I don't trust this developer at all, and they REALLY need to be more open and transparent to squash these rumors, but they refuse to. What's more is that you have Nuare themselves ACTUALLY MAKING A VIDEO FOR THEM. Like WHY, WHY does this team get this great treatment when they have NOTHING to show for it? Something is up with this game, and the more that comes out, the uglier it's looking.
