I’ve installed kitchen counters in houses worth over millions, ask the owners and they will tell you it takes a small work force to keep these houses running. One home owner told us it cost just $20,000 a year alone to keep his 25. Acres cut and manicured. He had a pool technician, a chef, grounds keeper, maintenance staff and paid them all weekly. My house is 2,017 sqft and that’s a big enough of a job for me.

I've had friends who lived in a huge place, and you are right, it takes a village full of worker bees to keep those joints going! This couple I knew was NEVER alone, maids, chauffeur, yard guy, chef, housekeeper, and tons of others. I never felt comfortable there, its was like trying to live in a museum. If you sat on the couch, someone would rush in to plump and smooth the pillows and fabric back to perfection before your butt left the room. It was insane. I hated it and felt that it was so wasted, because it wasn't homey or comfortable. It was a showplace no one ever enjoyed...
@TheKnives7772 жыл бұрын
@@christineparis5607 the museum part is so true, there were some rooms with fabric covers over the furniture. Some rooms were off limits and only used for special occasions. This one guy even had a "guests only" pool and bathrooms.

Glad to hear they have to employ all those people. Spend it all! Throw lavish party’s! Hire caterers, florists, bartenders, musicians, waiters and waitresses, parking valets, and staff. Spend it all!
@christineparis56072 жыл бұрын
@@kathyrams It's so odd that too much money, like too little, ruins your life. We had a great friend who lived in a trailor park with his girlfriend and they had a dog and a motorcycle, and friends, throwing barbecues and enough money to go on vacation once in awhile. He got injured at work and the settlement was over a million, so they were suddenly millionaires. It was like the Beverly Hillbillies, they rushed into a dream home, Mexico, a boat, just like lotto winner that go broke in two years, get addicted to drugs and end up broke and alone, is what happened. The absolute worst, most ugly sadness came from losing all of their friends, after lending everyone money, treating to dinners, etc., they started to resent him for having "everything", at the same time they wanted it too, never mind that this guy was still an injured wreak, he suffered a lot with multiple surgeries, and couldn't work anymore. That alone would be a warning not to spend on the wrong thing (like supporting all your extended family, friends, and THEIR extended families...), but he was doing drugs too, and the inevitable crash came. This is a true story, and I wish that it wasn't, because that money completely destroyed his entire support circle of friends and family, his girlfriend left (with his dealer, as I remember), and he moved back to a trailor park. It was over. The whole thing went on two years or so, and he passed away from poor health. I wouldn't live in a big mansion lifestyle for any reason.
