Sitting in the middle of a busy, touristy area sits the remnants of an abandoned amusement park. It was known as Miracle Strip Amusement Park. After closing down and sitting abandoned for several years, nearly everything was removed from the property. But if you look closely, you can find something hiding behind the palm trees. I was also lucky enough to find more pieces of it tucked away in the jungle like area by searching more of the location. So come along as we look at the abandoned chair life ride of Miracle Strip Amusement Park. Enjoy
Please Note: Exploring Abandoned locations can be dangerous. I don't condone or encourage anyone to enter an Abandoned structure. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal and when possible, i seek out permission. I simply go to document its history before it's gone and leave things the way I find them. I assume all the risks & responsibility in doing so. Please don't attempt to do this on your own.

I used to go to this park every spring break between 1986 & 1992... I loved the retro feel it had even then, like a trip into an old 60's film! Interesting but sad to know it's gone forever

Dude, I owe you an apology. I was ready to declare shenanigans on you earlier. I was convinced that you weren't really there because I couldn't figure out where you were. I thought you were claiming to be in the woods behind the old msap, toward middle beach road. Then I realized that you were behind Magic Mountain. So, you taught me something. I grew up going to PCB every summer, and I'm re-exploring everything now, using the historicaerials website, as well as old pics on Google image search, etc. Hell, I'm learning things just from reading these comments. It breaks my heart the way PCB is losing the very things that made it so fun. Thank goodness Goofy Golf, Funland, and Angelo's are hanging on. Thanks for the great video.

Yeah, some of my best memories as a child was going to pcb in the 80s 90s. In the late 90s it started getting too condensed with the high rises. No idea what it's like today.

My parents used to vacation at Panama City Beach back in the 70s. Going to the Miracle Strip Amusement Park was always one of the major highlights of our trip. Sad that it's gone. We made a lot of great memories there!

The structure was the turn around station for “Skyride” which was a chair lift type ride, that (I could be wrong) but I believe was a separate entity from the Miracle Strip Amusement park. The loading station for it was on Front Beach Rd. Along in the area where the Shrimp Basket restaurant is now. That house you saw , I believe is the owner of Goofy Golf, which also owns the campground that is back there too, which probably explains those old washers and dryers. They looked to be coin-operated, and they have those for the campers to use there. They probably store the non-working ones in that shed.

I was born and raised in panama city and visited miracle strip over the course of two decades... you're in the wrong spot. miracle strip was never located south of shipwreck island nor was it on the same side of the road. miracle strip was across the street from shipwreck to the east and is now serving as a parking lot for shipwreck... I know this because we use to spend all day at ship wreck and then the evening at miracle strip across the street.. the chair lift was never a part of miracle strip and im unsure why its even there because I never even knew it existed and i've lived here 30 years.. thanks for exploring though.. I never knew that was there. Edit: i just done some research and found out that you were under the loading dock of the old "sky ride at magic world" but it wasn't a part of miracle strip. from the looks of the video, it seems that this sky ride would take you to different destinations around pcb. too bad they don't have something like this anymore. here the video if you would like to watch it : kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKqli2mve9Ngm68

I have always wondered about this. Did it transport u out of the parking lot or did it go to Alvins Island or Shipwreck Island?? Please respond im very curious and always have been yet i got no answers. Thanks

I explored that same property a number of years ago, and the abandoned house was there then, not damaged by Hurricane Michael. I think the house and the large Brick House adjacent to it belong to the former owners of the property, or to the Koplin family, the owners and creators of Goofy Golf on Front Beach Road. They allowed the small Street to go through the back side of Raccoon River Campground so that their customers would have a direct route to the beach.

Back in the day we had 2 amusement parks. Miracle strip and petticoat junction amusement . This area was known as the miracle mile. There was also a Tower to the MS park. Petticoat Junction was like a western theme with a train ride around the park, they also had "shootouts" in the streets. These parks were family owned and interest in these little parks dwindled. PCB and the whole area around PCB was being discovered and it just made sense to close them down and make money on the property. I hope I've helped you some. I missed the old Florida panhandle It's just not like it used to be. You could walk for miles on the beach and never see anyone. SIGH (there are pictures on Pinterest BTW) P.S. I just found your other video of the beach..lol See why we wanted to keep it a secret now!!! Enjoy you Vacation.

The band was Miami Sound Machine, and former husband came away with a big crush on a VERY young Gloria Estefan...lol. Shipwreck island opened in 1983. It was part of the reason people didn’t go to miracle strip as much. I graduated in 1983 and at that time when it was spring break everybody wanted to go to PC get tanned or burned go to miracle strip and also buy an airbrushed T-shirt

The actual park was across the street from the char lift remains. none of the rides were around that lift. The lift has been abandoned for a lot longer than the park as I went to that park as a kid in 80s and the lift was abandoned then. Alvins island is totally separate and the magic mountain mall on that corner in front of the lift has nothing to do with it. The water park has the same owners as the old amusement park

We used to have a ride at our local Amusement Part called Elitch Gardens. We called it the Sky Ride. It went from one end of the park to other. It was very cool. When they moved it to another location they did away with it which is sad because it was very popular

This cable car ride closed years and years before the park did. It was actually located across the street from Shipwreck island water park. The place you were exploring was actually never part of Miracle Strip. Awesome video though.

I remember going to Miracle Strip when I was 6 yrs old with my dad on our last night at Panama City. Had to be around 2000 or 2001, it really sucks to see it like this now... 😕

As far as I know that wasn’t part or miracle stripe. It was it own thing. A bucket lift that went down the strip. It’s been there for a very long time
