@greyeaglem5 жыл бұрын
I don't know anything about European architecture, so I can't tell when a place was built there like I can buildings in the US. It did look to me to be fairly recent (past 50 years) construction based on the formica counter in the bathroom and the design of the spiral staircase. They could have been added during a remodel though.
@milosstepanovic3363 жыл бұрын
The wooden staircase, the entry hall, and the facade, look like they come from the very early 20th century, or maybe late 19th, but it seems like it was renovated at one point, in time, most probably somewhere in between '50s and '70s... also the fairly "modern" reflector on the top, of the building seen at 2:24 indicates that the building was inhabited up until fairly recently... And in the end, I think somewhere in the span of few dozen seconds before 2:24 mark he mentioned, it was 19th century castle...
@milosstepanovic3363 жыл бұрын
I forgot to say: it says in the title of the video, art nouveau, which is architectural, design and art style (preceeding art deco) that came with La Belle Epoque (the beautiful epoch) 1880-1914, and was most popular in between 1890-1910, so now we at least have a presumed time bracket during which this castle, was built... It would be nice to know, thoigh, some more information, like who built it, was it a familly home or some kind of welthy peoples club/resort, where is it located.... There has to be some local who knows those kind of information, or someone, who maybe even remembers the building before it was abandoned (presuming the building was abandoned in the last 50 to 60 years....)

It could be in Britain no ? And for sure, it’s from 1900-1920 or 30, but I don’t think the straircase and bathroom are dating from the fifties, it’s the style and materials of the years 1920-1930. It’s so beautiful, but we don’t even know where places like that exits in France, how could we restore it ? Most of the time, the reason is that heritage problems blocked the sale of the house, or maybe was it sold to foreign owners who live far away and don’t really care. Or very old people, who can’t take care of it, but don’t want to sale. And really, those beautiful houses are very difficult to sale in France. Thanks for your video, I’m praying to save this wonderful villa 🙏

The house in France with the spiral staircase, first two steps marble, black iron balustrade with thin wood railing. There's a chapel in it. The painting over the alter is Mary Magdelana, not Jesus Christ as you would expect, and Mary with child is a statue to the left. Anyways, the raised gold emblem on the gate to approach the alter looks to be a Masonic one. It's very possible that the original owners supported the Knight's Templers. They may have also protected the royal bloodline of Jesus. That was sent to North America, 1300-1500 AD.. This would explain the painting over the alter. During the time of the reformation , followers of the true church of Christ went under ground, to avoid persecution/torture. The old stores/history is concealed within the tales of the knights.

Hi Lesley, It is very sad to see such a magnificent building in that state of disrepair and vandalized in the inside nearly beyond recognition. So for instance it was quite shocking to see that beautiful mirror nearly completely sprayed, whilst beneath it were these typical coloured art nouveau decorations. I could see in those rooms, where you showed us viewers through, some very remarkable art nouveau details. Art nouveau belongs to my favourite art historical styles. - Many years ago I had the great pleasure of visiting the "Horta"- house in Brussels, which is completely well preserved with the whole interiour as a legit. time capsule of the art nouveau periode. But this peculiar white tiled spiral staircase reminded me somehow more of a medical institution. Could it be, that this building was used as some sort of a mental asylum? - I liked how respectful you presented this amazing abandoned fairy tail castle with your comment as well as with your pictures. - So I wish you and your cameraman friend William all the best and safe explores. It was a very pleasant surprise to receive in the middle of the week unexpected notification from bros of decay. Thank You and blessings! - Kindest regards from Switzerland.
