I don't know anything about European architecture, so I can't tell when a place was built there like I can buildings in the US. It did look to me to be fairly recent (past 50 years) construction based on the formica counter in the bathroom and the design of the spiral staircase. They could have been added during a remodel though.
@milosstepanovic336
@milosstepanovic336 3 жыл бұрын
The wooden staircase, the entry hall, and the facade, look like they come from the very early 20th century, or maybe late 19th, but it seems like it was renovated at one point, in time, most probably somewhere in between '50s and '70s... also the fairly "modern" reflector on the top, of the building seen at 2:24 indicates that the building was inhabited up until fairly recently... And in the end, I think somewhere in the span of few dozen seconds before 2:24 mark he mentioned, it was 19th century castle...
@milosstepanovic336
@milosstepanovic336 3 жыл бұрын
I forgot to say: it says in the title of the video, art nouveau, which is architectural, design and art style (preceeding art deco) that came with La Belle Epoque (the beautiful epoch) 1880-1914, and was most popular in between 1890-1910, so now we at least have a presumed time bracket during which this castle, was built... It would be nice to know, thoigh, some more information, like who built it, was it a familly home or some kind of welthy peoples club/resort, where is it located.... There has to be some local who knows those kind of information, or someone, who maybe even remembers the building before it was abandoned (presuming the building was abandoned in the last 50 to 60 years....)

@@angelous7774 I believe I have to respectfully disagree with you. I don't believe, it would take millions of dollars to restore this. I've seen castle ruins that are ten-times worse than this that took $300,000 to restore beautifully. I could see through the graffiti and trash that the property could be easily restored. But, the owner is the properties' worst enemy!

In the room with the mirror that was painted it looked like it had really beautiful tile work under it. It look like Art Nuvo which would have been a treat have a close look.. France was famous to that style. You only spent less than 8 minutes in that house. Sometimes you seem to be more interested in what is left in the ice box than other things. It could be in Britain no ? And for sure, it’s from 1900-1920 or 30, but I don’t think the straircase and bathroom are dating from the fifties, it’s the style and materials of the years 1920-1930. It’s so beautiful, but we don’t even know where places like that exits in France, how could we restore it ? Most of the time, the reason is that heritage problems blocked the sale of the house, or maybe was it sold to foreign owners who live far away and don’t really care. Or very old people, who can’t take care of it, but don’t want to sale. And really, those beautiful houses are very difficult to sale in France. Thanks for your video, I’m praying to save this wonderful villa 🙏

The house in France with the spiral staircase, first two steps marble, black iron balustrade with thin wood railing. There's a chapel in it. The painting over the alter is Mary Magdelana, not Jesus Christ as you would expect, and Mary with child is a statue to the left. Anyways, the raised gold emblem on the gate to approach the alter looks to be a Masonic one. It's very possible that the original owners supported the Knight's Templers. They may have also protected the royal bloodline of Jesus. That was sent to North America, 1300-1500 AD.. This would explain the painting over the alter. During the time of the reformation , followers of the true church of Christ went under ground, to avoid persecution/torture. The old stores/history is concealed within the tales of the knights.

Hi Lesley, It is very sad to see such a magnificent building in that state of disrepair and vandalized in the inside nearly beyond recognition. So for instance it was quite shocking to see that beautiful mirror nearly completely sprayed, whilst beneath it were these typical coloured art nouveau decorations. I could see in those rooms, where you showed us viewers through, some very remarkable art nouveau details. Art nouveau belongs to my favourite art historical styles. - Many years ago I had the great pleasure of visiting the "Horta"- house in Brussels, which is completely well preserved with the whole interiour as a legit. time capsule of the art nouveau periode. But this peculiar white tiled spiral staircase reminded me somehow more of a medical institution. Could it be, that this building was used as some sort of a mental asylum? - I liked how respectful you presented this amazing abandoned fairy tail castle with your comment as well as with your pictures. - So I wish you and your cameraman friend William all the best and safe explores. It was a very pleasant surprise to receive in the middle of the week unexpected notification from bros of decay. Thank You and blessings! - Kindest regards from Switzerland.

Love your videos...please slow down though. I'm getting sea sick every time i watch them and please, please, wear gloves and a mask....asbestos, mold, lead, HPS from mice droppings and etc., cancer, cancer, cancer...Please be aware and take caution so we can enjoy the videos and know you did not get sick for our pleasure.

Your title should be 'Abandoned Fairy Tale Castle'. I realize English is a second or third language for you and it's an easy mistake to make. 'Tail' is what you find on a cat or dog, 'tale' is a story.

Hello guys and thank you 🙏🏻 for another amazing 😉 explore! I, too, love 💗 the tiles and the mosaic. This would’ve been a lovely 😊 home at one time & still maintains some of its splendor. How sad 😢 that vandals have ‘destroyed’ so much...we all wish they’d explore (if they have to) and leave their destruction at home. Stay safe my friends & post more when possible. Blessings & Loving 🥰 Hugs 🤗 from your FAMZ in NC USA 🇺🇸.

I love watching your videos. But could you research who owned those places and why they were they abandoned? Always interesting stuff

Where is this? It’s gorgeous! If I win a big enough lottery I am buying it and restoring it. It would have to be a major lottery and a very cheap selling price!

If you google manoir colimacon you’ll find a bit of info about it. There was the intention and attempts of restoring it, but there were some issues with the neighbor and previous owner the put a stop to it.

Was the owner a Tile Magnate, that was a very strange stair case. And all those tiles in strange places. Really enjoyed your video. TFS.

Such a shame you moved so fast! Maybe you were more unnerved (uncomfortable/scared) than we imagine?

Pity about the site, it's nonetheless interesting. Just a couple of remarks about your video. This is the second I'm watching on your channel and it's a pity we can't really see the place as you seem to be rushing (understandably maybe as you're trespassing). Slow down a bit and take the time to film the rooms properly and at a wider angle too. I see that one of your friends has a tripod: why don't you put your camera on it and film some of the rooms accordingly, making slow panning so we can really appreciate the place. Just a tip. I hope you don't take this comment as a criticism but as feedback from one of your subscribers. All the best.

Why do people believe it is their right to trash a property that is not theirs? I can see what this place must have looked like once, you are telling the story of this castle. Tyvm

This castle IS beautiful even with the graffiti it does not take away from its exquisite beauty. It must've been breathtaking when it was built. I love the terraces, the frame 6:33 - 7:46 that room and porch is gorgeous. Very sad to see this castle in such bad shape. Great video 👍🏻

Your very respectful, and that's refreshing , the only suggestion i would have , is to go slower when walking through, as it makes it difficult to watch...seriously, it is very fascinating , thank you for sharing !
