Being from Iraq - Sulaimaniyah, I believe this was Ouday's car, Saddam Hussein's older son and back in 2003 when Saddam's authority was ended many people went to the south of Iraq and stole brand new cars, including a collection of cars that only Saddam's sons could afford, the cars were brought to the north (Kurdistan) and some people (rich and of high positions in the rich political parties) got some fancy cars like this and some limousines. there are still some cars that were used by Saddam's family and people have them here... such a shame that a car like that ends up trashed and not taken care of... loved the video! Amazing follow up!

Ranj Faraidun - really interesting story, I guess the history of iraq immediately after the invasion and during the occupation must be pretty crazy from the perspective of Iraq. Hopefully that history will come out someday.

@@TheBenchPressMan yes, it was beyond crazy, a lot of people got crazy rich overnight due to robbing banks, stealing brand new cars, trucks, buses, you name it. the smart thieves didn't go for regular cars, the went for what they called "the presidential mansion" got guns (pistols and AK47)s made of gold, exotic cars which once belonged to Ouday and Qusay the two sons of Saddam Hussein. unfortunately people were killed defending themselves from thieves who tried to steal their car. you could buy a brand new stolen 2003 Nissan Maxima for 800 USD, which was cheap beyond belief. hope one day someone makes a documentary about these things.

Undoubtedly cylinder walls are scored at a minimum. More than likely other major engine damage has occurred as well. All of those parts are difficult and expensive to obtain.

Yes and no. It's got an interesting history and will probably need a near full resto which could double the price but even as scrap I doubt it will never be worth less than $500-700k. For a collector and money is no object, this would be a great buy. If the current owner is serious about selling it, an auction would set the value the market has on this.

Ahead of its time and a technical tour de force with more sporting credentials than the F40.. Now, there is a supercar that could handle sand all day long! I'm not disagreeing with you at all, just another point of view.

Mattias Mehta because the BRF ones are stored on the warehouses in Jerudong, Brunei. They’re not lost,missing or abandoned for him to go find them. They might be in disrepair and neglected but they are still privately owned by the Brunei Royal Family. They have sold some of the collection, including some F40s and maybe one day we will see all of them again but the chances of him just casually contacting them to buy a car are close to 0.
