The Vaulted Side Split
I think you will like this large abandoned house, it was quite large and had a lot of personal items left behind, including some furniture. When I first walked into the home I saw many items having been strewn about and I got the feeling that squatters may have been living here at one time. Either way, I always find it surprising when so much stuff is left behind. The nice thing is that some of the house's original features were left intact such as the staircase, some of the windows and the basement.
The last time this house sold was in 2004 and it was for $740,000, this property would likely have a value much higher than that in today's booming market, probably more than $3 million. It sold many years later to a developer and has recently been torn down to be replaced with a smaller townhouse subdivision.
This abandoned house was a side split built in 1966, there was also an addition built in the 80s which became the new kitchen. It had an in ground pool as well as a tennis court which gives you an idea of the size of the property.
After the home was bought the developers who own the property were actively salvaging any and all materials worth, those materials were donated to needy organisations before the remains of this abandoned home were demolished.

Really cool old houses! It's really sad to see them done away with by the waste side. My house was built in 1947 and It has so much character and history and still looks about like it did when it was built. I have lived here for the past 40 years and will last for generations to come. I really enjoy the journey walking through these old houses with you thanks so much for sharing.👍

Hey James, I really enjoyed this 1980’s house👍🏻. Like you did as well I did think that that burgundy living room furniture was UGLY AS HELL😆😆👍🏻👍🏻. I thought that it was very gaudy but I guess that it was trendy in the 80’s🤔. I really did like that bathroom as well that had the jacuzzi tub in it. It also looked like this house was built on a lot of land. I was surprised at the size of the pool and the tennis court in the back of the property. It’s also such a shame to hear that this house is a complete tear down to build townhouses☹️. Great video as always James and see you in the next “STATIC SPACE”. ✌🏻

Thanks for the great tour, I'm glad you got to it before it was demolished.

I love that the house sits on a nice, large beautiful piece of property. Thanks for sharing James. Love your videos and content. Hi James I like this house. I also saw the one that Ethan did. I love the kitchen in this house so big with lots of cabinet space and those 3 skylights. I didn’t think the basement was that creepy and I did like that mural down there. I agree that there have been squatters staying there and thankfully you didn’t run into any of them. That pool must have been nice when people lived there and let’s not forget the couch out by the pool. Inground pool, tennis courts, and basically a nice home who in their right mind would leave this house abandon? Maybe a foreclosure or something else. Anyway it was nice watching your version of this lovely home. Thank you and see you in the next Static Space. Stay well and safe James.

Hey my friend , such a nice piece of property this house sits on ,as usual another great find and narrative, I love the fireplaces as well and the total lay out is just indicative of a family who probably entertained quite a bit and clearly were sports enthusiasts or an active life style , love the intro music as well . Just make sure to always carry gloves and perhaps a mask of sorts since one never knows the amount of time these properties have been vacant and all that dust and mold could be over powering to breathing.

In Canada, they're building high-density housing everywhere. In the big cities you can see condos/apts going up everywhere. The streets are no wider. There's less retail, entertainment venues, restaurants, churches, parks. Basically, there's no place to go. And immigration has been ramped up for decades. And who can afford the condos/apts in the cities? Immigrants, the same immigrants who have first choice of jobs and education positions because the host population is so privileged (they tell us). With Asians/Indians making up 2/3 of the world's pop, it won't be long before they're majority on every continent. I wonder if our grandchildren's children will even know what "European" means. I would say the same if we were flooding the East, believe me. But that ain't happening.
