Abandoned HPI Savage 21 Nitro RC Monster Truck

Just got my Savage X running and out for a run today, it's got a 3.5 engine as I bought it as a chassis and the 4.6/5.9 engines are bloody expensive. Nitro is such a pain in the ass but such a satisfying feeling when you get them going sweet! Love the old savages!

I have one of those glow starters that works off a 2v lead battery, it was recommended to me around 2000 at Phil's models up in Newcastle upon Tyne, and it was still working around three or four years ago then the battery just would not charge so I've just bought a new battery for it , that extra .5v does make a difference to the glow plug and the charge lasts a long time , now I've got back into nitro and I'm recommissioning my fleet of Tmaxx trucks my 1.5 2.5 and 3.3 and now with a little help I have a savage 21 almost ready to run and another savage in bits , haven't made my mind up if I will just keep it for parts or build it to sell on at some point , I just love tinkering with them , I find the nitros a bit more interesting mechanically speaking and I like that more then just sticking in a 2-3-4-6s lipo , stay safe everyone and enjoy what every rc you like .

The servo saver on the steering bell crank there's a spring with a nut on the passenger front turn the nut get more tension on the spring improve the steering turmendsly

Ben! come on you know any Savage can wheelie 😁 52 spur to 13 bell it'll do them easy! but lower 49 spur to 17/18 bell you'll see higher top end speeds. I remember that old gearbox strip video because... it had food! in it. Made me want to got to Mac-Donald's at the time you did, you and that burger 😂👍🏻

The Cristal is hard to find one of the only parts I have looked for that I can't really find. I have the servo not the fail safe I have the o ring what engine are you running I have some parts depending on what it is. I also have a tank but it's not brand new. Brake clean will take off super glue. If you keep the nitro in a air tight container it stays good for a hole lot longer. I put 12v battery pack in the remote control there rechargable. I have glow plug starters that take batteries in watch it and listing as you go.😁

As many KZbin channels that r out there about Nitro. I got to say none of them has brought back RC's from the dead like u my friend 👍 and as good as alot of they're channels r. Alot of them over think the simplest of things. Or Say u have to have to top $ everything. And alot of what they do post people can't afford half the shit they're showing on they're channels because not everyone can get free merchandise inorder to make a video for or just to enjoy having for the hobby. But keep doing what ur doing! Everything else will take care of it's self. I realize u know that already just because of ur "matter of fact" personality 👍

great video i did get myself inferno neo 3.0 but need on it new shocks this is the hobby where goes so much money every month/year and its hard to save money when i do have this hobby and this hobby eats all my money like but maybe i should just fix all and then look/open up rcs to see what is broken next year and its hard to find new shocks to inferno neo 3.0 im thinked at would mp9 tki4 shocks go to inferno neo 3.0 idk need to search the shocks

I have screws and every plastic you could imagine. You can make it a 25 now its a 4.1 the 21 is 3.5 I don't have the k engine there expensive I have the 4.6f parts I'm still watching lol✌️

I've just fitted a gearbox with reverse to my savage 21 and with the extra servo, im struggling to fit everything in under the cover, how do your cables run and fit in there?

That engine is not the original 21bb.... not even close.. that's the 25..... if it's an original 21bb it came out 2002... I bought one... and it had 2 gear diffs and a 2 channel radio.... that 21 shell is the original.... don't think the truck is.... pull the diffs out... the 21 only had 2 spider gears we upgraded them with ofna cross pins and added the other 2 gears.... good video though 👌👍

That’s exactly what my one is, trust me it’s the original engine lol I took it out myself and also I even have the box for the truck still and it had that engine on it. If I have to I’ll make a video of that to show you what I mean 🤪😀😂

@@HaggardRC no it's not... that is not the 21bb... its light purple and Shiney....with the fancy machining... definitely NOT the 21bb...... its DARK purple... mthas a matte finish and no machining on the heat since... if I could only post a picture here..
