This old reteo home was built around the late 30`s as it has some art deco features of that era and has only really had the kitchen upgraded. The owners moved out and left the things they did not need it seems which is not all that much. I enjoyed this old place, it had a lot of character and since this explore I have driven past to find it has been demolished now. Hope you like the look through here guys. Cheers for watching :-)

Is that the "milkman's" bottles I spy? I say bring that service back😄 Who here remembers the milk bottles being delivered to the front porch? A pokey little place and love the ceiling medallion and light fixture in the dining room. Like your choice of intro music. Stay safe 👍👣

Well spotted mi buy :-) I grew up in the country and I remember the Loyds soft drink man leaving and picking up bottles from my Grandmothers porch too :-)

Oh yes! In fact one of my earliest memories was of the milk man getting me in trouble with my mom. I walked into the kitchen one morning with a bunch of tulips in my hands to give her. She sternly asked "where did you get those flowers?" (knowing quite well that our next door neighbor had tulips growing in her back yard AND that I wasn't allowed to wander any further from home than the neighbors on each side). To avoid getting punished I said that my husband had given them to me. Of course she asked who my husband was and I said "The milk man".l AND SHE DIDN'T BELIEVE ME!!! Can you imagine that? Did I mention that I was 3 at the time? Our milk man would not only bring the milk but also on Mondays, eggs and butter if we'd asked. On very special occasions he'd leave a bottle of chocolate milk in the holder! I would have gladly married him if he'd asked!

I remember that time as well. My first job was working in the office of the local milk distribution business. Lockshore Dairy did home delivery, commercial sales, made cottage cheese, yogurt and sour cream. They even handed out insulated boxes so the home owners milk didn't spoil.

Yes, the red and gold foil tops and getting the cream off with the first pour, we didn't make so much needless rubbish in those times as with plastic bottles now., I remember the breadman comming for his rounds too👍

I have heard those called "Storybook Cottages" The ceramic brick front on the gas fire, and the stepped brick on the exterior chimney, here is a place straight out of 1937. Quite often, the adjoining nurseries were converted to dressing rooms after the need departed. The Garden gnome and statuary reflect the old owners attachment to the charm of the place. Good job recording. Cheers!

I want that house! It's like a little fairy cottage. Rooms were a good size and the leaded glass windows are beautiful. Too bad the mantle was gone. Oh. My. God. I am in love. That ceiling medallion is bloody stunning! All the detailing along the ceilings has so much more character than modern homes. Sigh. Modern homes like modern cars....very little soul or imagination. I even like the odd old knobs. The lead panes are lovely and compliment the ceiling designs so nicely. What a neat little house. Love the architectural details outside and the windows! Original ceilings with the medallions are pretty special, too. I recognize that style glass door inside from an older home we renovated a few decades ago. Appears from the cracking in the one front room that the house may have an expensive foundation issue. Too bad, definitely has renovation possibilities but with that rather large lot, probably be torn down for new construction. No cool architectural details then. Thanks for another great tour! Enjoyed. (oh, I see from your comments it was torn down, not surprised, darn it)

What a very nice find. A LOT of living was done in that nice home. I was your 100th like.😁👍 I saw a video where a group of lions went after a baby water buffalo, & they stamped the heard, grabbed the baby which landed in/on the side of a river. Then a big croc started attacking...THEN the whole heard of water buffalo came back surrounding the lions!! I've never seen anything like it. The lions had gotten the baby up on the bank and it was still smuggling to get free. At first the lions just sat defiantly & that turned into shock as the water buffalo started really attacking the lions who like couldn't believe what was happening. Accupple of lions got thrown around but managed to run away, but then they came back, only to face very angry water buffalos once again! Finally the lions wised up & split ! The baby was saved but I would think may have died from it's wounds & shock latter maybe. That big croc came out of no where! The lions were keen on not jumping into the water after seeing the 1 or 2 crocs. Also there's a car ad you have to see, it's UNDER that video only about a min long. Can't talk about it without giving it away. It's 6 am in Maryland right now so I'll say 🍺🍻🍺'Paul. 🖐👻 I could look up the link if you'd like to take a look, it's only about 10 mins. or so long.

The ceiling ‘medallions’ (or whatever they’re called) ..... I remember falling asleep @ my Grandma’s (in Melbourne) bedroom. I was only tiny & still in a cot. Loved all the original details left in this house. I live in a house of that era and nothing left of the original house, the last owners remodeled the whole house. They did leave the original kitchen cabinets they are the basement laundry room. I hope before they demolished this house they at least save all the original items they could.

That little place reminds me of my grandmother's bungalow house built in the 1930s (sold for 5K USD) in East Texas, USA. That little place would be easy to renovate to recapture its original charm. Shame to see it just wasting away empty.

I noticed several houses they put extension on the back, which stops the air flow out the original windows of the house. This one has the bedroom windows opening to the rear storage area. Must get really hot in those bedrooms. The electrical outlets besides the kitchen sink are scary!

@@urbexindigo5164 I'm in Canada, and enjoy seeing the difference in building styles. Seems the rooms with the tub and sink, along with the separate room for the toilet seems like an afterthought in some of the houses. And the high number of fireplaces in each house amazes me.

Paul, do you ever have a hard time with any of these places? Some of them, I either feel really sad about, or I am cringing, because so much is left, or a decent home is sitting there, just rotting. I also feel bad when I see the large farm properties being bought up by developers, to put up rows of crap houses on. I always feel much better when you say that the home was saved and is being lived in. The barns, the really big ones, you don't find much anymore, and that makes me sad, as well. I love it when you find those!!! Your creepy basements make me laugh, as do the ever present comments about cobwebs. Thanks for another great explore!!!------ Gerri (SDK)
