Most likely the mansion was converted into Apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floor at one point to help maintain the mansion and its previous owner. Not sure why the mansion is sitting abandoned today but at some point, itmust have been a grand home to live in. The reason vandals will rip out the walls is for the expensive copper wiring and pipes that these older homes have in them. Most likely the appliances were stolen too. What a shame this beautiful property is being left to rot and be destroyed. What a great find though... thanks for showing it to us.

I agree, good shot. Most people are aware enough to realize a couple thousand dollar camera usually doesn't equal tagger/copper thief. (Also the rental RV $100K+ not ideal for copper hauling/ unaffordable for mentally ill taggers). Old man was an idiot. Definitely off his meds. He's just lucky he hasn't dealt with any real criminals yet.

Jon from Exploration Unknown has filmed this Mansion many times and knows the History of the Butcher Family, who built the house. Mr Butcher just died recently and this property has finally been sold. Jon is in contact with the New Owners or the Bank. When the Bank first seized the house, they attempted to redo the upstairs into individual apartments , that is why there are 3 kitchens upstairs. The idea was short lived as they were not able to successfully lease them.

That mansion was recently re-listed on the market...found the listing online. It can be yours for only $800,000 (lol). I think the bank finally caught wind that people were going in it. I only live about 2 hours away and have explored it myself.

Why'd you feel the need to flip off the guy for telling you to leave? You're trespassing and he coulda just called the po po to come get you, probably with a fine as well. I always enjoy your videos. Impresses me that you are truly doing exploring without the destruction that can go with that. You probably have the best quality videos of most anyone out here. I realize you have invested a lot of money in your cameras and lighting, and it shows. The still photos Kristy takes look like studio photos taken by ultra professional photographers. hey guys I really like what I've watched, haven't seen them all, I'm 45 and I used to explore places like that,..well the old Koch hospital in st.Louis Mo. say 1988 yeah long time ago 8th grade ...its torn down but anyway..some people that has never explored before especially travel , staying accomadations, and then to have some old man to pull up on me to tell me to leave ..when nothing was stolen or vandalised ..makes me want to set up shop on that old mans dinner table ..and really find out what's up

The Mansion was purchased buy investors and were in the process of converting the upstairs and other parts of it into apartments, but ran out of money it got to expensive and aborted the project!!

Nice vid, Robb. I was impressed with the detail of this place, also. The staircase is done well, the wood molding, and the wooden flooring, it was a really nice place, sad to see it sit like that. But, it's probably either too expensive for most people or it can't legally be sold...yet, anyway. Who knows...because it is said the owner went to prison for fraud or something, so it may not be able to be sold.

What I find interesting is that any home or land over grown or just messy with old cars hasn't been taken by the EPA for one. They fly over all of our homes looking in our yards that if they deem ugly even from just above you will go to court and be mandated to clean up property. Why haven't the state or local govt taken these homes and done something with them, like keep them for themselves if nothing else.
