He was found the same day he died. Feb. 9th, 2014. Obit posted Feb. 14th, 2014 in the Altoona Mirror. He DID NOT decompose for 9 months. He was found the Sunday he died at his residence.

I'm not trying to be to be rude but there is no way that bed had someone decomposing on it for 9 months. Anyone who has ever seen what decomp looks like would know this, after that long in an open air room, there wouldn't have been much of a body left and that mattress would have been covered in bio hazardous waste, and the neighborhood would have smelled something decomposing. The house would have been sealed off with warning signs everywhere since no family came forward to deal with it. I have a lot of experience and education in death processes.

I know Cathy personally and also my mom does we all miss her very much I watch these videos just to see what it was like and we all knew it was her husband but couldn’t do anything cause the cops didn’t have full proof we went to several people some said she was in a bad in a lake some said she was in his basement when the cops went they weren’t aloud in the basement and if u ever went through there backyard it’s aweful but she is still loved every year we through her a. Interesting approach, this was a little like watching an unsolved crime show on TV. You are both well spoken and have presence, I feel that you could quite easily create a marketable mainstream show. The interview with neighbours was a nice touch. It is a sad pair of stories, and sad again that the house is left in its current condition. It touches my heart that you were able to incorporate the importance of justice for Cathy into your explore. As someone else mentioned, a combination of the two things (abandoned property & an unsolved case) truly intrigue many people. At some point, if the property isn’t purchased for taxes (assuming he owned it), ownership probably reverts to the municipality or State of location. If I ever end up living alone I think I'll get that service where they call you make sure you are okay. I think how the service works is if they don't get a response someone comes to check on you.

So much sadness in one house. I don't understand that if the man had family in the Poconos, why they wouldn't come and collect his personal stuff, like all those family photos. It brings home the fact that all of us die one day, and we all will be forgotten. Seeing all of his and his Mother's things just forgotten and no one cares, is so heartbreaking. It is so sad that this house still stands just the way it was left. And the fact that this woman's body was found in the garage, I mean, what are the odds of that much tragedy in one house. And to have to live next door to it must be very hard.

So sad, the man's story was heartbreaking and Cathrines story is tragic for her and her family. Hard to see what is left of someone's life just thrown around but this just reminds me that we need to look after our neighbors, awful he was not found for months. Their is a missing young woman Emma Fillipoff who went missing, with no real trail of evidence, in my town here on west coast of Canada. A couple years after she went missing, a man in Vancouver BC, was caught on CCTV in a shop, tearing down her missing persons poster. The clerk and him spoke briefly, and that man has not been allocated by police or investigators. Similar perhaps, it is an odd move to be tearing down missing persons posters. It certainly leads me to think that the individual would be experiencing some sort of guilt, or trying be counter productive to finding a missing person. Good explore.

This is a sad house. Using dousing rods, asking questions within the house or outside of the house, would give you answers to many troubling un answered questions. I would never want to purchase that house.

Ok I'm sorry but if you have a neighbor that you "supposedly" talk to and you haven't seen them in 9 months your a lier. I don't know what was going on but that's pretty disturbing, and if Frank was going to family reunions then there is someone that can determine what to do with his stuff and the house. I hope authorities can close the case on Cathy I can't imagine the pain for her mother. I've lost a child so I do know the hurt but she has to live without closure and I hope she finds that. Great video opens allot of questions but it may get some answers also. Keep us posted

I was thinking the same thing! But also, they are not doing anything to secure the place, to stop people from going in and trashing the place even more! In the UK, homes where the owner has died and there's no one to sort out the estate, the local council/authority takes possession of the house and everything in it after enough effort has been made to make sure there isn't a living family member to inherit the property and possessions. The council then auctions off the possessions and takes ownership of the house which they either keep to use as affordable housing for low income families or sell and keep the funds. All this is too stop properties going to waste whilst theres a massive housing shortage and to stop illegal swatting and looting. This system works in theory but doesn't in reality because of the amount of time deemed appropriate for sourcing an heir to the estate. But I would dare to say that in general the UK has less abandoned houses of the sort you find in US; loads of inactive buildings and large houses who have owners but who are not doing anything with the properties but not so many homes that are abandoned with everything still in it! It's such a waste and detrimental to the neighbourhood!
