Leon Grant was my great grandfather. South Weare Garage was moved in the 1960’s to Goffstown, eventually being sold to Malloy Ford. The building in Weare was used as storage and and eventually sold to a man from Manchester. All belongings inside are his. The building was sold and is no longer in the family and hasn’t been for quite some time.

I googled "South Weare garage" and found a ton of cool pictures of what appear to be this place. There is one picture with a very old Ford sign over a door and to the left of that looks to be an original wooden sign advertising the dealership. Very cool video and building. I'd love to rescue that Mustang. I wouldn't even wash it. I'd bring it home and park it and just stare at it

There was no death in the family. I know the owners personally and he bought each of those cars individually. He hasn't died yet and he just needs a place to store them. If people are so interested, call the freaking number! He's willing to talk, but those cars are also valuable to him, not just money wise, but sentimentally too. If you have any questions, call the number.

+olskoolnewpaint What? Rust belt has nothing to do with rust. They call it rust belt because of factories closing and the local economy. You think "rust belt" means cars left indoors rust more? Ha ha how duh can you get. Cars rust in the north because of salt on the roads, how does salt get into this building?

+mason resendes The engines have probably sitting since for 30-50 years, they're probably low on all fluids and the pistons have rusted and seized up, they most likely wouldn't run. But most definitely, I would love to breathe life back into these beauties.

+Benjamin LeBlanc I have to agree with You, The problem is that it's a good possibility that who ever is looking over the sale of these cars didn't know what a gold mine he or she had until the close of the first sale when the buyer being overwhelmed with joy said to this person something like "Man you have got a real treasure trove here I wish I cold buy them all'" and then the seller starts thinking "Hmmm, Maybe I should ask a lot more for the cars." Thereby leaving the average person with only a dream and not enough cash and a seller that would rather the roof fell in on top of it all then to let it go for a more reasonable price. To some this may sound a little far fetched but It happens every day and not just with cars either.

@EarlGuyton4259 жыл бұрын
+Benjamin LeBlanc Heres why most of us allow these cars to just rot and later allow them to go to the crusher and this happens because we SIT om top of the titles. We do this for the same reason I am fixing to send a 1960 Cadillac that runs great and looks good to a parts dismantler and GIVE THEM THE CAR FOR FREE but without title. No title makes them have to salvage the vehicle. We wont sell them because of this chit below people do to us. At one of my houses in Houston Texas the nice 60 Cadillac has sat on a triple wide drive way for 9 years at present and still runs very good. But people come here thinking I am going to give this car to them for 400 dollars. The people that have come here ask me what would you sell this car for? My response is 4,000.00 which is very cheap!!!! I did say 4 thousand dollars folks. Most get this chit grin and say does the AC work? Or chit like could you take 1k because the paint looks faded. I say 4k or nothing and again this is extremely cheap for a complete car that drives as this one. Everyone pulls this crap. So being my life style like many financial pros as myself we simply give these things to other business owners and not so we can claim tax loss but because of idiots that think their clown shit is going to drown the proper market of gentleman trades fair. We rule out the scum and disallow them to gain from our areas of liability ventures. Even wealth has principal people

I mean, you could probably find a way in, take a gas can and some starting fluid with you and try to get one to turn over, then make a ruckus and get out of there, dude. Especially with some place's response time being pretty high. Of course, it may be best to try to contact the original owner of the dealership to see if something could be worked out, dude. But I mean, cars like this aren't being made anymore, they're just rotting and the history of the time period is dying with every one of them, dude. EDIT : Decided that it would be best not to condone this kind of behavior, plus I didn't watch a lot of the video before I had commented, I didn't know that they were already for sale, and I didn't see how cluttered the inside already was. You should for sure contact the owner, if they're just sitting there then he may be alright with letting one go cheap, and if it's a dealership car you'd be the first owner. You'd know the frame would be alright, and you may be able to prime the carb and get it to turn over if nothing is living in it. But being in NH, I would be willing to bet that there's quite a bit of rust, so I'd probably ask to check that out before you bought one.
@iamWonk8 жыл бұрын

Imperial was the make and Custom, Crown and LeBaron were the models in ascending order of price and plushness! and the Crown Coupe and convertible were both the Crown model!

racist much? not all black people commit robbery, and besides those cars are most likely gunna need a ramp truck to get out with how long they have sat, and if any of the owners kids know cars, they will notice if a car goes missing

For all the people saying to fill up a trailer with those cars: It's theft. You go to jail for that. Also, get some morals. Also you thieves make it hard for the rest of us who like urban x photography. It's because of thieves and vandals that most abandoned sites are surrounded by barbed wire and fences.

Was the site of the South Weare Ford dealership. Grew up in Goffstown, N.H. Late 1940 - 1950s. Saw my 1st 55 T bird driven by the owner of the dealership. Amazing it still looks the same!!

I'm a car person and own a garage but the building is really cool and would be great to restore just for a historic factor since it was a early Ford dealership I hate the fact that here in America we demolished old buildings and remove history if I lived there I would run my car restoration business out of it great video

Thank you for posting this excellent video. I loved seeing these old cars, too bad they are just sitting there waiting for someone to take them to a new home. Please describe the video rig you used to make this outstanding video. Regards

There's a place like this in Naugatuck, CT. It's an automotive repair shop that used to be a Pontiac dealership. The owner has an impressive collection of cars, some of which came with the building. Place is called Sibby's Automotive. Love the tour and the cars....

I'm sorry, but if someone leaves something exposed, rusting, neglected, and on its way to becoming one with the earth again, I say take it and give it new life or purpose. Screw the owner. They're most likely a selfish hoarder that doesn't give a shit about it other than to possess it.
@czarpeppers62508 жыл бұрын
Good sentiment, right up until you're arrested. Even if you did manage to get away with one of those cars it would never see the road again without the proper transfer of ownership.
@benmartz34058 жыл бұрын
CzarPeppers I would have no pleasure stealing then restoring either. That totally defeats the purpose. I restore I wanna enjoy.
@czarpeppers62508 жыл бұрын
Ben Martz It is a shame those, those cars are like looking back in time. You should look up the place, I think its around Toronto. Some guy who owned a BMW dealership closed his dealership in the late 80's and just left it there. Even today you can see some wonderful examples of 80's BMWs with next to no mileage sitting inside. What I'd do to get my hands on one of those beauties.
@foadrightnow57258 жыл бұрын
Denis B I guess you can blame my hoarder brother for making me feel that way. I know I didn't originally state it, but my sentiment was such that only if the owner refused a fair offer on the vehicle and chose to let it become one with the Earth should one just take it. It only matters to the hoarder because of greed. Would I ever act upon my own advice and do something like that myself? No. But I certainly wouldn't get upset at someone who did. As long as they were giving the vehicle(or whatever) new life and purpose. And not necessarily doing it with profit motive in mind or to come up on someone. I know it's technically wrong, but I feel it's also wrong for someone to be a greedy selfish hoarder and let something rot for no reason. Sorry. Just my opinion.

You have to also keep in mind that if it weren't for these people holding onto these cars for all these years we wouldn't have these incredible finds today. They'll end up in other people's hands eventually, everybody dies.
