Abandoned Outback Australian UFO Themed Caravan Park

Hundreds of miles from anywhere, in the middle of the Australian outback is the incredible sight of the former caravan park in Wycliffe Well, Northern Territory. Only recently abandoned, the park was a great stop for weary travellers and one that we've stayed at previously.

This is so sad, we stayed last year. It was run down but a great place to stay. We’d plan to stay this year on the way up nth & back. Have done for decades. Had an issue with van so couldn’t go. Hopefully someone will get it up & running again. We go way back when the little train was running. They even had Barra in the dam. Bus loads of tourists. Backpackers would stay in the on site caravans . Working, cleaning , mowing helping in the kitchen.

Yes we thought so too. We have heard that it flooded and there was too much work needed to fix it up.

Any idea why the park was abandoned?

Not sure mate we guessed that it may have been flooded at some stage and the damage was too great but that was just a guess.
