I totally agree with you! I had a pitti back in the early'80's and due to this my sister is on her 3rd pittie who is so damn sweet she is like sugar! Lacy, the sweetest dog ever!!! And even though she doesn't see me on a regular basis will still cuddle up to me like I'm her lost friend! They are the most magnificent of dogs! Truly loving and loyal and true protectors as mine was back in the '80's. Bull....I still miss him. Media has done them a very true misservice. Absolutely! Or, was it that celebrity that raised them as fighting dogs that created so much controversy over this breed. I can't remember his name & actually don't care to.

It sounds crazy but I am an over the road truck driver and I was parked at a loves travel stop and went in to shower then came back out got on the road and called for my pit spike and nothing so I freaked out turned around went back to look for him and he was literally sitting in the parking spot where I had just left turns out he’s able to roll down semi windows and he’s not afraid to jump out of them thank god he was there tho it had only been like 3 minutes since I left

These dogs are so forgiving; no matter how abused they have been. My sweet Gracie, was 22 pounds of bone and fur, on what should have been a 55 pound Blue American Staffordshire Terrier. She was about 4 years old when I rescued her. She had just finished nursing a litter of pups. The vet said that she'd probably had 7 or 8 litters; one with every heat without any time for her poor body to rest! She also had heartworm, and almost died, following the first set of injections, to treat it. She was deathly allergic, so we did the slow kill. Fortunately, she responded well, and was heartworm free after 6 months! Gracie was my constant companion, for over 11 years. She left me at the age of 15+, after getting a type of cancer abused by the weed killer used on the grass around our apartment building. She came into my life, after I DEVOTED, following an assault, that almost took my life! She was an, " old soul" and so empathic. She just seemed to know when a PTSD episode was going to happen. She'd jump up next to me, put her head on my chest and just lie there. Amazingly, the episod would be short circuitry! This breed has such an amazing sense of smell that they can detect very small changes in the smells the body produces, due to the hormone changes from cortisol that is produced prior to an episode. There's so much more I could tell you, about her, and maybe some day I will tell Gracie's story. She's been gone since October o2018,and I still miss her, every day. I have a new service dog, now, Daisy. Another great Bully! We really have to start taking the abuse and exploitation of these sweet animals seriously, and punish those who abuse them, or just throw them out like trash, or a piece if furniture that is no longer wanted! The are not born fighters, and often die, or are severely injured because they refuse to fight! We Ned to continue to educate those ignorant people, who, without doing any research, e.ieve the hype, printed, broadcasted, or posted on social media, simply to sell newspapers, get viewership, or accumulate more followers on a website. Don't believe what someone else tells you, investigate for yourself. Hundreds of dogs were killed, when several U.S. cities decided to ban ownership of them. The instituted seize and kill legislation. Some dogs, who, it was later discovered, didn't have any, "Bully" DNA in them, were euthanized, primarily due to misinformation and ignorance! So, keep on posting positive stories, like these. Rescue, adopt, and be advocates for spay and neuter of animals, to prevent Ferrell and unwanted litters! These dogs use to be called, " the nanny dogs", because of their lo e of and need to protect children! Remember Petie, from The Little Rascals? He was an American Pit Bull Terrier!
