It's a crying shame that this song doesn't have more views. It's wonderful.

Ah, Sublime Currency, the album i absolutely adore, this and Humanistic share my number one spot, anyways, here's my two cents on what this song possibly means. Again, I just want to clarify that this is just my interpretation. Anyway, I think the song explores themes of existentialism, the search for meaning, and the acceptance of the natural order of things. For example, in the opening lines, "I can push the buttons/ I can wrestle with the phantoms," it suggests a struggle with control and understanding of the world. Despite efforts to manipulate or comprehend life, the protagonist realizes that "the best things happen naturally." This highlights the futility of trying to force outcomes or understand everything through rational means. The repeated refrain of "There's nothing I can say to you; the sublime currency is true" underscores a sense of acceptance and resignation. The concept of "sublime currency" seems to represent a higher power or cosmic force that transcends human understanding. It's something that cannot be explained or rationalized but is nonetheless real and powerful. The lines "Don't get excited, but I can't help myself" suggest conflicting emotions: a desire to remain composed and detached, yet an inability to resist the allure of something greater than oneself. The questions posed in the bridge-"Why"do you torture yourself for no one? / Why do you keep on the fight? / It's already"won"-hint at the existential struggle many face in seeking purpose and meaning in life. The suggestion that the fight is already won implies that perhaps there is no need to strive or struggle; instead, one should embrace the inherent beauty and order of existence. Overall, I think the song presents an exploration of the human condition, probably urging listeners to find peace and acceptance in the mysteries of life rather than trying to control or understand everything. I think this goes along with the themes in the rest of the album: that bad things happen, you can't change them or manipulate them, you can learn to accept them, live with them, and move on and find inner peace. Again, this is just my interpretation; don't kill me.

I don't know why, but this song brings me back memories of Clone High, and its bestest moments from 12 whole episodes, until the very end. Let's hope that the second season will have a couple of Abandoned Pools tunes in it!
