This now vacant mansion dates back to the mid 1800's and was owned by the same family from 1874 to 1908. In 1909 it was sold to a banker from Buffalo who renamed the home and the property, using his own last name.

The new owner would build two cottages on the property for employees, as well as a barn and clubhouse. In 1919 he also purchased the adjoining property, razed the existing stone house, and put up a new one for his daughter.
The first floor of the house retains more of the original look of the house.
The front door opens onto a deep entry area. To the right is a relatively narrow stairway up to the second floor, which was extensively remodelled to allow dormitory bedrooms and baths when the house was owned by a local institute.
The original portion of the estate was built in 1825, and has seen renovations and additions over the years to the building that was used as a summer home, when it was purchased in 1905, then when it was used as a think tank and most recently a school of philosophy.

Thank You ! The tour was rewarding. It was if I was looking at a place to buy. The second mansion, more personable. When places are not furnished, I could understand your speed in filming. In St.Paul, Mn, their is the James J Hill Mansion. Beautiful wood work, but no furnishing. You wonder why you paid money to see the place. Now in Duluth, Mn there is the Congdon Mansion. Over looking Lake Superior. Now their is a house to see. "Furnished". I my self scan quickly if it gets boring. Thanks for the upscale feeling of a dream!

This place was a teaching establishment of some sort. modern heating radiators it has been renovated recently. A beautiful place I hope they use it for something and keep vandals out. The floral wallpaper in the last house a bit heavy but a very nice house I have seen it before almost two years ago nice to view it again thank you.

WoW! Beautiful place and just the first floor. The kitchen area, yeah they had servants, then the rest of the kitchen! Lmbo! I'm spoiled after owning a restaurant I want the dishwasher in my kitchen and stainless steel counters. This place rocks!

I actually was did some work inside this house recently, its a really cool place! Its really insane looking at its state then versus its state now of being completely gutted to the studs.

I went by last year and looked inside, what a bummer. I believe I heard that it was full of black mould at one point

I was just there today and it's still abandoned. The stone wall around the property was really cool. I'm here because I was curious what it looked like on the inside. This video was excellent and it looks like they decorated in the 90's and forgot about it.

Apparently the owner of said property is intentionally allowing water damage so he can eventually tear it down. It's currently a historical property but the owner is fighting to get this tot down to out up a hotel/conference center and townhouses

That was fun! So glad you oriented us from the front entrance. So much easier to keep up with the house layout. I could have spent all day looking at those blue prints. That was a serious 1990s reno in the big place. Green carpet, oak kitchen, antique white walls. Some paint looked later. Was it yellow? Not much hardwood flooring. Shiny brass fixtures. But it was pretty pristine except for the water damage. Either some excellent carpet or little traffic. The mirror walls made me think of dance or martial arts. But carpeted. Hmm. Loved you found the room on the roof. Was there anything inside? Second house def more homey. 80s wallpaper. Faux finish walls early 00s? Very nicely done. Wanted to see the master bath but oh well. Such a good job of covering all ground. I was trying to get a screenshot of that clock looking thing but you were on a roll by then. Thanks so much. Of course now I’d like to know all about it. But’s that’s what a great explorer does. Leaves you curious and wanting to know more. Be safe. ❤️
