The 2J’s have two CT12 turbos. Twin turbo means exact same size turbos. Bi turbo usually means two different size turbos (but not always). Compound Turbo means one smaller turbo helps spool a larger turbo. Hope that helps 👍
@houseofno7 ай бұрын
No, twin turbo doesn't always mean exact same size turbos. I will even give you an example. The final gen Mazda RX7 or FD, from the factory, used a sequential turbo system in which the larger turbocharger fed the smaller one.
@crohns82637 ай бұрын
No it means the Turbo swings both ways
@atfgarage94597 ай бұрын
@@crohns8263 sorry friend but I’ve been in the industry for literally decades, since I was 12. Aside from a couple of anomalous examples, this is exactly what they mean. What you are referencing is either mirroring turbos or VG~”variable geometry” turbos. Extremely rare now, let alone in the 80’s and 90’s.
@skullfracture27 ай бұрын
@@atfgarage9459 you’ve been in the auto industry since you were 12?
@KorraTheFrenchie6 ай бұрын
The 2JZGTE had sequential turbos as they talked about earlier. One smaller for lower end and one larger that kicked in at 4000 rpm. Variable Geometry turbos are something different as previously mentioned. This involve variable vanes in the turbo that adjust to help with horsepower. Common among diesel engines and some high end manufacturers like Porsche.

Twin turbo means an engine has two turbochargers, instead of one. The turbochargers work together to compress the air that mixes with fuel in the engine's combustion chamber. The extra air means the engine needs more fuel, which burns faster than in a normally aspirated engine, resulting in more power. Twin turbo engines can increase air and fuel intake almost double the amount of the same engine without a turbocharger. Twin turbo engines are often configured in two ways: parallel and sequential. In parallel configuration, the two turbochargers are identical or mirrored, and each processes half of the exhaust from a V engine through its own piping. The turbochargers can be the same size or different sizes. In most twin turbo technology, the two turbochargers are placed next to each other. Both turbochargers can deliver boost simultaneously under high rpm and loads.

Good job guys! Recently subscribed when I realized I hadn't yet. For lugnuts... they often get moved around when people lose them while doing repair work. The rule is usually that four lugnuts is perfectly safe and 3 could be ok if there is no option to get the the parts store. (obviously this is likely not recommended by any safety company). From my limited understanding, the thought is that if you lose all lugnuts on one wheel that you can take one off of the other three to have enough to drive on the last one. So basically people lose them or steal them for other running cars. I would bet you will find a lot of cars running on three per wheel when they usually have four. If I missed anything feel free to make it right in the replies.

To remove imprints from leather, heat the area with a heat gun or hair dryer, then massage it to lift the pressure marks. It doesn't always work perfectly, but it'll improve it at least. Loving the videos btw, I came over to watch the other Supra video and since I'm a huge JDM fan, you just gained a sub!

For imprints on leather, you would have to use heat and do not place heat on a specific place because you don't want to damage it, just circle it and be patient, and it will be lifting.
I belive that you can bring the leather dent up quit a bit, by leaving a rack of somekind soaked in fabric softner overnight. Fabricsoftner brings rubber and leather back to life. Its worth a try

In regards to the shipper putting the car all the way to the front, if it was the only car on the trailer, due to load balances, it needs to be as close to the front as possible. As a leather guy. You could use a wet cloth and an iron or try using a steam cleaner to remove the marks in the leather. You can do same thing with wood to remove small dents. But the leather has to be wet to bring out the dents. That's why I use an iron or a wood burning tool with a flat bit . Just don't burn the leather. That's what the wet cloth is for.

The lugnut missing is often a result of wheel lock key getting lost and having to remove them by a different means.

I believe the only way to get those imprints fixed is to replace the foam padding within the seat itself. That leather then should be heated and pressed to be shaped back flat, and then re-installed onto the seat.
