Globalization began during the 60s which ended many small businesses. Then during the 70s they began regulating farming and that began bankrupting many family farms. Then the food corporations began taking over food production. Most of the food we buy is produced by corporate farms and sold in stores owned by big corporations. It is also genetically modified.

Here in the south on the forest floor, leaf litter piles up holding plenty of moisture, which accelerates decay of wood.The house appears to have decomposed in place which leaves behind only brick stone or metal; and glass. Many times vacant houses are stripped of functioning parts like doors, mantels and windows... it seems if there was any wood it was either carted away or burned by hunters for firewood.

Armadillos are a pain, I live in Florida and I had one that dug up the yard really bad. Finally got a lawn service that put down stuff to kill grubs and they went away. It looks like those people that lived there weren't poverty striken as they had a tv and some nice shoes for the kids.

Sounds silly but what I found interesting was how many of those bottles you found were soft drinks. Mainly because there was a deposit on those at the time of production and EVERYONE always returned their pop bottles to get the deposit back. Heck, kids would go out bottle hunting to take them in for cash. It's just recently that bottle deposits are no longer a thing in some parts of the states. But for the time this house would have been around (looking at the debris that is left) bottle returns were a must. I remember walking to the local gas station as a kid and having to drink the coke while there because we didn't have the extra pennies to leave the deposit so that we could take the coke home.

I fondly remember the old tube type TVs. I had a electronics hobby in the 1980s and early 90s. They were phasing out tubes in the 1960s and 70s, and I remember servicing the hybride TV sets, part tube and part solid state. The last tubes to go were the horizontal and vertical sweep tubes and the picture tube. That old TV looks to be late 50s or early 60s.
@maryr7800
@maryr7800 Жыл бұрын
When our tube TV would stop working, we would check to see which ones looked burnt out and take them to the drugstore, which had a tester. When we found out which tube was done for, we would look in the cabinet under the tester for a replacement. When we got home we would put the good tubes back in along with the new one(s), turn on the TV and Voila ! Good times !
@charliepc56
@charliepc56 Жыл бұрын
@@maryr7800 Those were the good ole days. Now, everything is so small, and the drugstore or a Seven Eleven store is no help. I remember watching a guy at a TV repair shop turn the set on and go instantly to the bad tube and replace it without turning it off.. I stopped my electronics hobby when everything became surface mount. Thanks! Have a good day!

I have no clue on the door but my parents did have a '76 Monte Carlo so, I do remember the push button door handles. I also remember those old bumper jacks as well. Those were the best jacks. Now days, they're a "pain in the rear" jacks, lol.

The armadillos were cool. I've never seen one, since we don't have them up here. Nice. I love Coke bottles. I don't know why. I just do. I never heard of Upper 10. Okay. Looking at that house, and the way there's nothing left but a chimney, steps and foundation piers, I might guess that it was wiped out in a forest fire after it was abandoned, and had started to grow up into woods. If it was up here, that would be my guess for sure. But then the TV doesn't look like it burned. So, who know. It looks like that chimney was in a wall between two rooms. I have no idea on that wheel cover or that car door, though I'd guess the car door was from the 60s. Cool explore. I enjoyed that.
