Guys, I have watched a lot of your rescues and this one seems to be really special. Sometimes when you do something great like this, the owner will realize just how nice this old truck is and they will never part with it. Sometimes they will discover just what a fine God loving family you all are and will enjoy watching you all bring this old girl back to life. No matter what happens, I hope that someone will bring her back to life. God Bless your entire family and please, keep on doing what you do.

The truck in this episode was bought new for my family’s company, Arkansas Machine Specialty and Truck Repair Company in 1947. It served the Hope, Arkansas company until it was sold in the 1970’s. Imagine my surprise to see the truck being rescued in East Texas. I enjoyed driving that truck in the 1960’s and 1970’s. When I saw the Dodge tail gate with the Arkansas tag it instantly grabbed my attention!
@RESTORED-HOPE3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I recognize the last name. I was checking on the history of the truck and logo and found where your grandfather Ernest O’Neal founded the shop in Hope Arkansas around 1928. I searched a little deeper and seen the name Powell. Hope you stay tuned

My buddy had a 1949 International PU and I am here to tell you that is a tank. The body is heavy sheet metal. The cab is huge. You double clutch, as I remember. Huge split rim tires. The more weight you have in the box the better it drives...It is a great truck and a fun drive.

Awesome video! I just finished restoring a 1987 Mazda RX-7 Turbo. I worked on it for about a year. I use a cool prgram on my computer called Automotive Wolf car maintenance software to track all the parts and expenses so I know exactly what I have invested in it. I have about 6K in it now and plan to sell it for 12K after paint. Thanks for the great video
