Yes i know i said mud wasps and not dirt dobbers. Mistakes happen... You still got the point! I tried something new in this video. I kept the camera rolling the entire time, up until i leave the attic. Let me know what you think of this technique. Enjoy the video.

i like this keeping the camera rolling. thank u :) great vid; such interesting items. lots of stuff but it somehow didn't feel hoarderish to me. i did wonder if perhaps they had some sort of thrift store & vandals have just really trashed things. i recognized items from 50s, 60's & 70's. thank u for taking us along again for the explore; it's always an adventure. keep safe & God bless :) :)

I feel so sad for the elderly couple who once lived in this house. No family or close friends who could take care of their personal belongings is even more sad. It's just hard to imagine all this stuff left behind. :(

Well at least now we know what was in the attic. Thanks for going back. Since the people died from cancer caused by contamination it probably came from the well water being contaminated either from run off or ground water that leached into the well. If they had children, they also would probably have died from disease or cancer caused by the contaminated water. Stay safe and God bless.

Behind the house by the landfill was the poor farm. There was an orphanage and a graveyard for the unclaimed deceased. Very well could be haunted!!! When I worked for the county I spent a lot of time at the poor farm. Always creeped me out.

If there was a poor farm and orphanage behind the house the explanation for all of the toys and baby items could be that the couple took in foster children. The age of the toys and items range across several decades which doesn't make sense for a couple who had no next of kin.

Yeah those are what we used to call dirt robbers. They catch nothing but spiders and put them in those nests with an egg. They don't sting, unless your a spider. Great video, love watching , I don't live far , I'm in Williamsport. Keep up the good work.

Up in the attic, amongst the magazines, I saw a picture of Davy Jones of the Monkee's. Maybe from a magazine. Just before you picked up the McCall's magazine. In fact you laid the magazine down on top of the picture. I'm a big Monkee's fan, so it caught my eye. So sad to see all that vintage stuff being ruined......

Exactly, when property is still sitting on their land, it's all owned. Once the items are outside on the curb, or in a huge recycling bin, again on curb. It's considered garbage, and open to the public if interested. Thank you for Part 2.

Rick and Bekah have some really great videos for abandoned vintage but this one officially tops them all! Being 98 lbs I would have skipped all over that attic, digging away!! I saw Tons and Tons of stuff up there to dig through but I completely understand how that was not an option or even a draw. Especially when the lower floors are time better spent should you have it. The fact that all of these collectibles in plain sight remain year after year tells me that there is something more to that property than meets the eye. Especially being on a main drag! I haven't given much critical thought to this type of thing, but it seems that something is allowing for this house to keep all of its treasures. And with the flood of-2011, you said? being the heaviest damage done to the items, it's even more curious that kids haven't decimated the place with vandalism. Not a drop of spray paint! How can that be?? The roar of traffic was nonstop, this just doesn't compute. I find that to be very intriguing. Thank you for the great documentation and for returning to this incredible and curious house! I tend to agree with most of the details that you point out and this video was no different. Is there a basement here, or did I miss its mention?

8/13/24, Greetings, JP. I could have sworn that when you were in the attic, that after you looked at the McCall's magazine, your camera panned over a page from another magazine that is in a box. I believe it shows Davy Jones of the Monkees sitting on a couch. I enjoyed your camera always on, but if you could pan over items a little slower that would be a help. One of my bathrooms is done in a sixties theme. I got fed up with themes of fish, ducks, geese, blah blah, blah. I had saved my favorite Davy Jones pictures. All for naught. When my daughter grew up and was enjoying the tv show and music, her favorite Monkee was Mickey Dolenz. ... Keep well.

There is a couple of pieces worth a little money in there. The sewing machine bases people make table out of them. It's a shame someone doesn't rescue some of the antiques. People also restore the old cook stoves. Those can bring in some really good money. Old school desks in my area will cost about 75.00 each. The old strollers are worth some money too. I wonder if you could get permission to rescue the items in different places.

Hi jp, really enjoy your explores. I noticed painting or pictures on one of the room walls from the distance caught by your camera. Couldn't really make it out. Sad to see the singer machine perched there , wonder when the last time it was used! Here in Devon UK I have been in oldway mansion the sewing machine inventers Singers family home sadly it was used by the council for offices and allowed to deteriorate and is up for either auction or sale it was given to the people in trust sadly the council didn't estimate the building as valuable so rather than keep up repairs they moved out. The machines are still great collectables here and after cleaned up sold for good price. Thankyou stay safe best wishes bev stone UK. Sounds like your not so well would be best to get a mask due to mild spores asbestos and dust. Thankyou for returning to the attic room.

I waited all day for this video...then sat down to knit...a baby sweater and have no little ones or grand little ones at the moment....Got immersed in it and was watching videos from Finland...looked up at clock and ...CRAP!...darn it anyway it was 1030! I too was expecting to see so much interesting stuff..house is crammed full of stuff..and the one place it should be, it wasn’t. I was wondering what that wooden thing was right in front of you. I loved seeing the fifties stuff..my kitchen is fifties themed..I have a chrome set with cherry red seats and backs, so that red highchair caught my attention. Still was interesting up there..probably treasures out of sight hidden under magazines. Better to be safe..but I immediately thought..hmmm a door laid out on the rafters would have been nice..and I believe I saw one off the hinges downstairs..lolo...just sayin! Such a great house to find. and I think a bathroom is hiding in a closet..at least a commode.

A lot of vintage items were left behind due to house having to be sold so quick. Unfortunately I am guessing items were thrown out. My mom told me about those plastic costumes a while back. She had a Wonder Woman one and I can’t remember what she said my uncle had. So crazy how different things were back then!

First off, THANK YOU!! I love what you do and the respect you give to each location you visit. KUDOS! I'd love the opp. to do something like you're doing. Not many opp.s. in Alaska for something like that though. Secondly, ( Which should be first on my list.) I really enjoy the fact that you don't feel the need to use profanity in you videos. I'm not afraid to watch your videos with my kids. That being said, another popular term is "lath and mortar" for the wood and plaster on the walls. And for electrical wiring, a lot of the old houses will have what's called "knob and tube" which would be individual runs of wire accompanied by small porcelain insulators and did not have a ground 'wire'. I believe they stopped using K&B sometime in the 30's. If a house has outlets with only two prong receptacles, that's generally an indicator that the wiring is K&B. And the non-electric sewing machines with the "foot peddle" is called a "Treadle sewing machine" . My favorite "treadle" is the "Singer" brand. Once again Thank you.

JP, thanks for the recap and for going back. It is just weird, all the rooms, beds, and children’s items. There had to be kids and probably grandchildren. Maybe the family went through and took what they wanted and then the place was trashed further by looters, or maybe the family didn’t care about the stuff, or dunnn dunn dunnnnnn, maybe something happened to the rest of the family. As a side note, why would family want to live there with no plumbing! You know what I do for a living, in a past life I was a fire fighter, lost my career in a attic just like that fighting a fire and slipped off a beam, I will spare you the rest of the story, but smart not going up there! We call them mud divers... lol. Thanks again for going back and for sharing with us! I like the unedited shoot, but know that’s not always possible. Gave thumbs up as always!

Dear Pokemon, I saw your question about "..why would family want to live there with no plumbing.." and laughed! Ah fond memories of growing up in my grandparents 80-100 year old farmhouse when I was very young - no toilet inside! But we did have a very fancy outhouse - it was a 3 seater and the middle hole was small, just the right size for a child! Also, we had chamber pots and thunder mugs we used at night. We did have water run from the well into the kitchen, also a pump right outside of the summer kitchen/wood shed. We had an old claw foot bath tub, but we kids had a bath in a great big oval shaped metal wash tub with handles! My grandparents did not put in a toilet and other bathroom plumbing until I started kindergarten! Water would freeze solid on our bedside tables upstairs - the down stairs was heated by one pot belly stove and one large coal burner stove. As much as I loved my younger childhood living at my grandparents old place, I do not get nostalgic about the feeling of a breeze blowing up from the bottom of the hole your doing your business on!

Darlene Epstein Nice story and great memories I am sure.... but bet you wouldn’t want to back to that now! Lol. My girlfriends house in VA was the same way. I helped them install a water tank and a pump and they were so excited to have water at the kitchen sink! That was 30 years ago and my gf and I were both 20, they still used the outhouse, come to think of it, I didn’t spend many nights there! Thanks for sharing, awesome memories!

Like the continuous filming-- am always amazed at how smoothly you film despite crawling over obstacles at the same time...🤔 I Googled slanted chimneys and found that they are common in Eastern PA old houses. Copied from a discussion thread: "Often chimneys back then were constructed deliberately in an offset fashion because the mason wanted it to exit the roof at the ridge so no snow would built up behind it or to the backside of the house for appearance reasons." Some also suggested it was to avoid cutting through a roof beam. Very interesting as always!!!

K. Fuller I was going to ask about the chimneys so thanks for posting. I wondered if it was a mistake by the builder. I also wonder how hard it would be to clean those slanted chimneys.

Hahahaha This video made me get up and clean my house when I finished watching it. So sad the way things were just strewn about. I agree it is good to leave the items behind. A coaster or match book or business card no biggie to take as memento. I am alone and have three beds. My own in the master bedroom a guest room/sewing room and what I call my over flow studio. I am an artist. My main studio is now in my living room. I have had people come to visit and needed the two extra bedrooms so I tucked a twin into what I call my over flow studio. I actually used that room to hide in from a stalker for over three months. It was the only room in the house I felt safe in. Stalker has gone to institution now. I feel sad for him but he scared the heck out of me. And yes I am armed here. Hubby made sure of that before he died. Another great video. I like to see it as you do. Now onto your next video while I hopefully finish cleaning and polishing my bathroom counter top. I am ready to be done with this creation.

If you ever have the opportunity to talk with some older from that community, maybe you could learn more history. I still think these people could have run a daycare, and with the school desks, maybe after school care also. Thanks for your videos! I’ve always been fascinated with old/abandoned houses, and since I’m not able to go, I can watch through your eyes. 😁
