Wow, watching Laura crouching as she goes through those tunnels...... We all know how much you dislike having to bend over while exploring. No wonder you were huffing and puffing. Glad you chose to be safe. Although I live in California's Gold Rush country, I've always stayed out of the few mines that might have been accessible . Because..... Was a search and rescue person back in the late '80s, early '90s....... I participated in a body retrieval. Yes, not rescue..... Retrieval. Consequently, I became a caver instead. Just seems that the passages are much more stable considering they were formed by mother nature, not man. Have always loved the underground wonders, explored mine's in So Cal's Mojave area in the late '70s early '80s. . Now a days, I'm like the old fire horse in the barn. The bell rings but I can't go to the fire. That's why I enjoy being an armchair explorer, watching with the two of you . Thank you very much for sharing these videos. I look forward to them.

Hi, Gly and Laura. Very creepy and amazing exploration that truly captures the reality of your adventures!! At 2:20, I disagree with the word ‘Hasp’ if you are referring to the Hinges’ on the Left side of the Door! The Hasp is attached to the opposite side of the Door away from the Hinges. At 2:03, there appears to be an old locking mechanism (Hasp, maybe?) near the middle of Door! Congrats, Laura for the great job of helping Gly with these fantastic explorations!!

Must state from personal experiences setting steel and timber for cribbing with the wooden wedges tapped in to 'tighten it all up is a art form even to today. However when n these miners worked with rough cut timbers and hacked wedges their artwork to keep themselves save with those stall placements and the cuts are just awesome ❤

Thank you for not trying to get past that winze. The only anchors that would be safe would-be roof bolts. At least four footers. The only way that I'd get near that mine is with a big excavator. Get rid of all that alluvium. Maybe that is why the last miners left, they couldn't afford the machinery.

mine was probably run on a very low budget and there was likely plenty of wood around the mine available for them to use. no point in paying top dollar from the mill and transporting it when you can do it yourself with a hatchet, axe, and single/two man saw.
