First, the hospital gown in the embalming room wasn't stained with blood. The stains were yellow. Blood would be the color of dark rust. Second, the mantle by the piano was never a fireplace. The building was most likely built when homes were transitioning from fireplace heat to central furnace heat. They would place the registers in mantle surrounds to resemble a fireplace because that's what people were used to. It was a way to make the "new" technology more comfortable to adapt to.

the 3 tierd chandlier (7:25) is a gaslight, possibly converted to electric. gas valves are on the bottom. maintaining hvac is good to preserve building. the vehicles in garage will take a lot of work to make roadworthy. gasoline turns to shellac after1 or 2 years. fuel system will have to be cleaned or replaced. bldg. looks good for being empty for 10 years.

Watched this video before sunrise eith the covers over my head. About half way through, my son came in our room. I thought I felt a bump on our matress and I felt like I was being watched so I pulled back the cover to see my 5'6" 13 year old towering above me. He woke me up just to tell me he had to pee. It was like a nightmare that came true. I mean doing a virtual walkthrough of an abandoned funeral home in the dark, hiding from the boogey man that may get me only to pull back the covers and see the very thing I greatly feared. Scared the daylights out of me.

For a FH that's been closed for 11 years, it's not all that bad looking, especially in the visitation areas with hardly any dust or major leaks. It would be interesting to see who's been paying the utility bills for this abandoned business. FH's are not easy to take over unless it's by a corporation, & they're picky when it comes to their locations. It must not be in a heavily populated area where profits can be made. Large corporations would probably keep the original name of the FH, but in this case, the community is likely aware of the owner's history & would take their loved ones elsewhere. As an ex-FD, running a business like this is 24/7 work. Family owned FH's are becoming a thing of the past on account of heavy maintenance costs & overhead. This is sad.

such a same and very sad that’s theres theses beautiful abandoned Funeral Homes with the stuff still inside and Fleet vehicles that are at some of the facilities. all left to either be rusted, decaying & falling part or set to be demolished.
