I think her dresses were hanging out there so they could decide which one for her to wear for eternity. They chose the one you do not see. You guys are right about what a shame it is that things just rot away and do not ever get used again. Useful things. It's sad. Thank you! ~Wist (aka Leisa Irwin)

Very true in most cases never to go back to the family, because perhaps it's tied up in court, only to be destroyed, left to rot, or stolen. 😔

Hey guys hope your doing well!💞🙏What a cute little house I can just imagine how nice it must have felt coming in from feeding the animals and sitting down in the cozy kitchen for some hot coffee. I love cottages like these, that stuff in the box is called sevin dust it's a pesticide to dust your fruits, vegables, flowers etc..to keep the bugs off, it was really great to see you take care and stay safe.🕊️😘

Hi guys, Greg the Egg coming to you from the USA. Wow! what a cool old house, and the things inside were just out of this world interesting and really old. As for this great story, I can tell you what, my heart goes out to this poor woman who's husband past before she did and left her all alone. Wow! with such pure love for each other, and with one gone and one to carry on. It must have been very tuff for heart, I agree, the broken heart syndrome... Thank you AWE for sharing. GtE.. love your channel!

Hi the stuff on the table is vermicelli little strands of chocolate if you look the jar has it written on . Also I lived in three room old cow shed and had fire I opened all the doors and in the winter my fire kept it cosy . Had rugs on the stone floor . Low ceiling high roof is for insulation gap but same principle as double glazing :)also I live in a village now that has no main gas in Somerset they either use large gas bottles or oil . I have log burner in my thatch cottage and deep windows thick walls my cottage is cool in summer warm in winter. ❤

Schade um alles, was dort verfällt.

Beautiful little Cottage in its day, very homely in the decore. The little things in the kitchen in the paper you refered to are dried 'Cloves' used when cooking apples for pie etc. If you have tooth ache you bite and hold a clove between your teeth to ease the pain. The hanging things in the wardrobe would contain a mothball like block or insect repellant. Years ago when I was a kid in London everyone had a marble top on a chest of draws or table in their bedroom, this is called a wash stand, it would have had a large china bowl with a jug in it to use for washing yourself, obviously before bathrooms were installed. Probably a small hand towel bar attached at the side. Good one Adam, where is Mark? Hope he is well 💕🇦🇺

I saw that the couple's wedding photo was on the wall that you looked at it and talked about it. That wedding dress that was hanging in the room was the one she was wearing in that photo of them. They had a beautiful love story and I hope someone in the family cares enough to save those priceless memories.

brickwork fantastic, i come from a family of bricklayers . They used to do fancy decorative, geometric pattern-work, herring-bone etc, I think craftsmen are very underrated - some have the touch of an artist. My father himself was well in demand.

I'd have loved to see this when they were alive. Walking in on a winters day to a roaring fire in the kitchen. I love the style of it, quite quaint. Punch is a British magazine, they obviously would have been shocked if they'd have known America was to have a black president. Back then there was alot more racism I think for sure. I remember it back when i was a kid. Such ashame to see these wee homes now abandoned which was loved backed then. Great video Dave 👌Mark where are you? 😂

I love this lovely little cottage! Love the story of the little couple. It certainly had a story to tell, didn’t it? That was a really old old building. They lived very simply, but from the looks of it happily. It had to be so cold in there in the winter though. Thank you Dave for another wonderful job. Tell Marky he’s had enough time. It’s time for him to start rolling with you. Lol. Sending love from California💜🤟🏻😎🇺🇸

Thank you for telling the story. But what I find in many cases like the one in my aunts case. She just passed away recently. But she had no one. Everyone had gone before her even her own son. So what do you do with her things? Everything went to her sister which is my other aunt. And now she’s going to sell it. So if there are no family members after the couple passes to take over the home it would sit there abandon for 30 years.

The seeds on the book are cloves. Many older folk use to put them in cabinets to keep the moths out of flour, grains, and clothing. They were probably drying them to toss around. Mice also hate them. I only know that because it's what my ma did, changing them out for fresh every 3mo. I'm nearly 60 so if no one knew the great ways to use clove, it's not just for poking in hams 🙃 Someone must have wanted to see how the scales worked lol In the U.S. Sevin is a dust that kills insects on plants. Great stuff to keep tomato worms from killing your plants but great for all outdoor plants including roses bushes. MARK YOU SHOULD BE WITH THE GUYS ON THIS TRIP! Don't pass up the next invitation or Dave has my permission to lose a foot up your bum🤣

Nice video guys. Didn't know you folks over there were so familiar with American songs. It's a shame these people didn't have family to leave all those antiques to. You say you don't believe in taking things from abandon homes. I rather see people taking things than have the vandals come in and destroy it. That's even sadder. Thanks for sharing this video guys. Enjoyed it.

This is a great explore. Yes the house would have been cold during the winter and too hot during the summer. No insulation and slanted walls, I know that the older generation used newspapers to line the walls and a mud mixed with horse hair also. Love that furniture, real wood not plastic or particle board. Have a great day and stay safe.

It was a lovely little home. I think there is something very beautiful to be seen in the simplistic ways people lived before today's minimalist basic housing's conveniences. I love the sleigh beds. And as far as the advertisement about the president, it's safe to say it is very racial but given the date you have to remember segregation in the United States had been abolished not too long before. That was part of uniting the communities. It sickens me that the color of ones skin should change their whole life. But progress was being made, slowly albeit. I've always taught my children to look deeper into a person, who are they? At the start of day we all put our pants on one leg at a time and we are all equal in the eyes of my Lord and savior. Anyway, I enjoyed watching you guys! Can't wait to get Marky Mark back on screen! I always find your videos funny and light hearted with humor and the most beautiful content. Don't ever change! Take care, stay safe and God bless! xoxo💞Kat

If I died tomorrow there's nearly as much history in my home of 40 years. Homemade black ash units with 70's Gerrard deck , black wrought iron candlestick holders on the mantle holding church candles lighting up the blood red walls. Glass paperweights and pottery collected on our travels and the houses original wood pulley clothes airer in the kitchen holding pans given as wedding presents in the 70's. It's a shame these homes become museums for trespassers seeking out a living on the internet but respect that you don't steal anything.

Very interesting explore! The light/lantern @10 is a candle fuelled/lit side "lamp" off a horse cab/gig @ 1890! ,usually larger in English areas this could actually be for a BICYCLE! yes... One of the hanging dresses looks like a Brides dress. so sad to see family relics neglected .I find it amusing ...you guys do not know a candle lantern yet find interest in an SPARKPLUG! (common stuff in my life) ..soon with electric cars the spark plug will fade to oblivion too. Thanks guys take care ..nice to see your good BOOTS! ...cheers from NZ (80 yr ol guy)
