I'm sorry if I bum anyone out, but that auto graveyard just about broke my fn heart. To see all of those beautiful old classics reduced to rusting hulks is painful to my soul. Seriously. But, if you have the right kind of eyes and squint, you can see what they were, and what they could be again. Sigh...

You know it's not about the destination it's about the experience of getting there. Take your time and explore the different places. Thanks for taking me with you. That car with the shovel on it made me laugh 😅. You know just in case you need a shovel while you're driving.

Wish I had the freedom to do what you're doing. Just did my first "Post-Covid" road trip from Amarillo to Barstow and back on 66 between Christmas and New Years. It was a bit more purposeful than I like, and didn't get to really stop at as many places as I'd want to. Have really enjoyed your videos in the no-travel time of the last couple of years. Going to aim for El Rancho my next trip, and looking forward to the rest of this series.

Enjoyed the video. Really liked the look of that hotel. The lobby really took me back to how a lot of those type of establishments looked when I was a kid in the 70's. I was actually up by Route 66 in Flagstaff on a trip about a week ago. Didn't get to spend very long in the area though. It's a little over an hour drive from where I live. Need to get up there some time just to explore along the route.

Hi Jacob, Sorry to see in the beginning here, but I have a theory about all the sick graffiti. My guess is that a company actually hires hands to do undo these historical sites so no one will be interested in buying real estate there. And they strip out the goods before looting happens.,and the company makes a profit off left overs. My Dad worked on building Route 66.Love the car museum.About the grave markers,my boyfriend died in a car accident about 3yrs ago.I write stories, the area you’re covering makes me think of a 30s-50s story about a guy.but takes place in California, mainly.Wanna show this great video of yours to my parents at their nursing home.Cool work👏Enjoyed very much!👍😁

Been past the Santa Rosa NM car museum, but never went inside. Now that I know that some of the collection is up for grabs, I'll definitely have to make the drive up from Clovis to check it out. Tucumcari is always a nice spot to head up to. Of course the entire west side of town is deader than the rest. It would be cool to take possession of that old, tagged up Sinclair and turn it into a residence. As a trucker, fuel hauling positions for the local Pilot/Flying J up there bug me from time to time for work. That would be the perfect way to pull off that project. Turn the lobby into a studio apartment and the garages into personal working space and a rumpus room. Good times. -

The Blue Hole is an artesian well and cenóte that was once used as a fish hatchery. It is a tourist attraction and swimming venue, and one of the most popular dive destinations in the US for scuba diving and training. Fauna present in the Blue Hole includes goldfish, koi, carp, and crawdads. The Continental Divide of the Americas is the principal, and largely mountainous, hydrological divide of the Americas. The Continental Divide extends from the Bering Strait to the Strait of Magellan, and separates the watersheds that drain into the Pacific Ocean from those river systems that drain into the Atlantic and (in northern North America) Arctic oceans (including those that drain into the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Sea and Hudson Bay). El Rancho Hotel-The original structure was built by Pete Fecharo in 1939. At that time it was owned by Frank and Mae Guth.

Unfortunately, according to many Vietnam era GIs, Ms Fonda knowingly turned information given to her by American GIs over to their NVA captors, so I would be wary of using that room again

I had to look it up but yes Jane and Henry are related, Henry is both her and Peter Fonda's father, sadly only Jane is still around. I don't think I've seen a Cigarette machine in the metal in about 10 years now, I know they'd been popular for conversion to stuff like candy or art as you've seen a lot at installations but in these parts they just seem to be scrapped along with a lot of drink machines (I get those all purpose ones are more cost effective but theres just something cool about walking up to a glowing Coke or Pepsi sign), even the Gumball types haven't faired well being swapped for Gacha ones.
