The older I have become the more I appreciate ABBA and their timeless music. I have an eclectic taste in music, used to be a big Bowie and Floyd fan back in the day but loved the 80's new-wave and synth as well but there is something joyful and innocent about ABBA that seems to have been missing for a long time in music. They were basically the antithesis of today's mainstream corporate controlled autotuned mass production depression factory. (I know there is still good music and talent out there)

Norwegian ABBA fan since '72. ABBAcules abound in Scandinavian blood. It's speaks to a way of life and you just felt it. Made me smile to see how happy it made you. The ABBA groove is completely infectious and exactly what we need in the world now. My recommendation is to add SOS to your songlist. There are a lot of great ABBA songs, but that is a foundational masterpiece. If you know it, you will gain a deeper appreciation for ABBA. Everyone loves ABBA, even Sid Vicious did. SOS has had an enormous influence on music including the punk movement in England. Don't Shut Me Down, in my opinion, is a tribute to their album Voulez Vous. If you like the joy of this sound, give that one a spin at 11 with the windows down. Angel Eyes, Kisses of Fire, As Good As New. Super high music with lyrics relating to normal people working normal jobs. Glad to have you on board at this stage of the Voyage!!

That was awesome. I know a lot of my metal friends enjoy ABBA, it used to be secretly... now they don't care. There actually have been full metal albums dedicated to this band, I think the reason is because of the musicality of their songs and how complex yet simple they sound. Their back catalog is incredible and I think they wanted to do this last album before they died, keep in mind they are all in their 70s. They are well respected by musicians of all stripes and it is great to see new generations learning about their music.

I like 9 songs very much to a point where I play them all the time and 1 song I play on occasion called "little things". It's a 10 track album. 5 are slower paced with some having rock elements into them and 5 are up beat dance songs. If you appreciate songs that focuses on story telling along with the layers of instruments onto of there voices, then you will grow to love the album. Remember when you go into listening to this album, don't expect to get a rehash of the things they did in the past and is more of a more modern take on their past songs. I would rate the album an "A" for its instrumentation and lyrics that brings out the true abba they were once was and still are but into the modern world.

The big global news of this 21st century for the music world is the return of the legendary Swedish pop group ABBA to the recording studios after more than 35 years (the last was "The day before you came") and the edition of his new songs after 39 years (the last was "Under attack") and a new album after almost 40 years (the last was "The Visitors") Beyond that these three data are for the Guines Book of records (I believe that No Group or Singer or Artist can come close to these incredible brands), the most remarkable thing is How they returned, with what level of quality And I must say that ABBA overcame all fears, doubts and expectations Their return is shocking and his quality is still valid "Don't shut me down" it's another surprise from ABBA A pop song was expected, but there were reservations and fears for what it could be (and here I include doubts to the voices of the girls due to their age) And we find a magnificent work The beginning is with Agnetha's voice attacking with the pleasant company of the piano. What Agnetha does in that introduction is anthology, exquisite modulating and using different nuances with her mature voice. Until Benny's signature piano glint (nod to the mega hit "Dancing Queen") and ABBA's typical pop song is with us, with the fans, because the lyrics speak to us. and Agnetha assumes that decoding of almost four decades and gives us her beautiful voice as the strings grow and lead to a memorable chorus with Frida reliving the historic third voice of ABBA But it doesn't end there, the second part adds hooks and a xylophone is added to the bells (a nod to the marimba in "Mamma Mía"), and the pre-chorus has more force with Agnetha and Frida and the violins anticipate the elevation to a chorus triumphant final anthology reminiscent of his greatest hits And it ends with a soft and sweet Agnetha voice and piano melody (nod to "Thank you for the music") Thank for your great reaction and for Your respect to ABBA music now wey waiting for the new album and see in next ABBA vídeo GOD bless You

Almost 60 here, so, original fan. You may not remember: Agnetha was one of THE most powerful voices of the late 20th century, with incredible range and a chest voice that wouldn't give. ANYway ABBA wasn't always known for being upbeat; some of their greatest hits were minor key and/or downright dark. Knowing Me, Knowing You, The Name of the Game, The Day Before You Came... And Benny Andersson's career didn't end with ABBA in 1982. He is one of the greatest composers and musicians of the late 20th Century.

I totally respect and understand your feelings about the Abbatar concerts. I saw Abba in concert in London in 1979....I never thought that I would ever have the opportunity to see them again. I know that you think it is fake but I thought that "l don't want to see Abbatars as it's not ABBA...... but now nothing will ever stop me. I can't wait...give it time and many other artists will be following in the shadows of ABBA. I really enjoyed watching your reaction video.... So refreshing to have a reaction video as yours. PS do something about the lightning

I dont think I'd ever pay to see an artists pre recorded, pretend youth fantasy show. I'd easy however. Pay to see ABBA as they are today. It's one thing if it's, Elvis or Dio hologram tech and they are dead and we have no other way to experience it live. I get it. But, in this case. They re still here, and sound amazing. Why not go on stage as you are? Having said that... From what I understand, this show was being prepared before that ever "reunited". So maybe in the future they will appear as they are. In which case, I'd be front and center

@@TheRealMediaMan They are not going to tour at their ages. It is their choice to do that. The virtual concert will give the fans what they want. The four members took 5 weeks to have their every move captured digitally for the Concert. It is not "fake" ABBA. It is them. Just "transformed". Just like when they were in their prime. Some people will "get" them. some won't Not a big deal. Personal choice has not changed in the 40 years they were gone. The tickets for this show are sold out for months. So their true fans obviously appreciate what they are doing. That is really all you can hope for when you are entertainers. Pleasing the fans.

@@donny1960 yea it would be a hard pass for me. I can watch old KZbin videos and save a outrageous ticket price. I would pay to see them live. But not for a digital thing

I was 10 when they played "Waterloo" at the Eurovision, what was their start to getting famous i think. Of course a few years later Abba was no longer "cool" and we rather listened to Uriah Heep, Rainbow, Queen, Pink Floyd or whatever while Abba was just "dumb stupid pop" 😄 I find it somehow interesting that in the last years they again got such a hype and now everybody seem to love them. But maybe more just more people grow up and no longer fear to be "uncool" because they like some specific music. But in case of sweden i still rather listen to something like Metalite 😄🤘🏼

Some years ago they did a comic video with puppets and the real ABBA had cameo rolls in it. But in the background during the video was some one supposed to be a member of Iron Maiden. The story goes one of the groups member (i dont know which) was a huge ABBA fan. He actually watched the 1979 Whembly concerts from the side of the stage as it would not be cool to be seen in the audience. Artists of all music genres appreciate their genuis. Madonna paid a small fortune to use the melody to Gimme Gimme Gimme on her song Hung Up.

@@TheRealMediaMan Not in the form we know them and I bow to your wisdom as I am not a metal fan. But this one particular member was a big ABBA fan. He openly admited it many years later because he thought their song writing and production was genius

@@TheRealMediaMan lol true - Their Debut album was 'Iron Maiden' released in 1980 if I recall, so the following they had before this would have been limited although they were playing gigs from '76 onwards
